QOTD Thread #332- Do you think that people should keep cats outdoors?

Thank god all of the people in my guild are reasonably well-adjusted normal people (other than the occasional newcomer who comes in, makes a scene, and gets booted). There is thankfully no drama at all, and hasn't been for the last...is it a year, two years- I forget. We all get along. If people want to leave for another guild for a raid spot everyone is cordial and we wish them luck. People either can make the raid and come, or have IRL stuff and we replace them. People either get a spot in the raid and come, or they don't and they go do something else. We roll for loot, and people either are fine with the result, or win and decide to pass to people who need it more or haven't gotten an upgrade for a while. And no one gets upset. It's like playing with grown-ups. Go figure :P(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##ElhonnaDS##DELIM##

aww come on El, really? edit my post? First off, that name is actually very common because its the name of one of the hero units in the original DOTA, so its as common as calling yourself Naruto, or Legolas, or Sephiroth, and secondly this didn't happened in wow, you can't armory-check that guy, nor is it possible to find anything about him as this whole thing happened well over 7 years ago. I wasn't even married when the whole thing went down.
=/
Heck, checking that name I listed on wow's armory yields 185 results, because its a really common name.

Since yours was the first reply to the post, I wanted to reinforce the idea that we really shouldn't be naming people. It could get really out of hand, with people calling each other out, etc. Especially since most people's answers would probably be in wow.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##ElhonnaDS##DELIM##

Yeah, luckily since she left we have had one person who caused some drama. It was because he couldn't make the core's raid days and didn't wanna raid with the second group. He caused a huff, he and my GM exchanged some words, and he got booted. Other than that, its a drama free zone and I love it.

My guild had this mage, Englishman I think, back in late BoT/BWD who we (I say we but I was semi-retired from raiding by then though still helping out and still active officer) picked up during a period we were fairly short on people, particularly ones of the standards we expected. Rude, loot horny like nothing I've ever seen (he'd rage on both vent and in whispers to several different officers (moving on to the next one when his whine didn't get anything with the first) on several occasions when he didn't get something) and without a shred of shame or morals. I'd made a habit several years prior to participate in most of the class channels and this guy would sit and trashtalk f.e. a warlock in the mage channel while the same warlock was pasting whispers from him in the warlock channel where he was sucking up to the warlock trying to get him to pass loot.
Fortunately for us and unfortunately for him (not that he didn't deserve it) our guild was incredibly tight-knit so word (and a lot of copypasting) got around real fast. He was fairly universally disliked for the time we kept him on (longer than we would have if we weren't short on people) but was too thick to get it - he thought his insincere flattery was working, it was a sort of giant internal joke on him. Eventually he started saying openly racist things* and it ended up with the officers rolling for the privilege of kicking him from the guild mid raid. We had to ban him from our vent because he'd come on and flame us, then he made posts on our forum and our realm forum about how bad we were and how he'd be better off without us. He was subsequently turned down by virtually all good guilds on the server because we knew everyone and they asked us about him when he'd applied, then he migrated off to join some guild that crashed within weeks and finally tried to flatter himself back into the guild a month or two later. Incredible.
* and meaning them, which was a distinction. We had a
very
high tolerance for language in-guild, but everyone were good friends and everything was good natured with a lot of joking. We had an amusing episode where we'd failed some trial and before leaving the guild he rage reported everyone in guild chat - one of our members who was an Israeli Jew got a temp ban for racism because he'd been telling Jew jokes and a black guy in the guild got the same for having used the n word.
There have been others as well, like the stereotypical terrible girl player who sent naked pics to the guild leader and demanded fast track promotion and loot (unlike Death and Taxes we didn't post those on our front page, though) and the odd combination of #$%^&*bag and badness but nothing as spectacularly rotten as this guy.
Or, assuming you correct the gender pronouns, as Dandelion put it:

We had this one guy who was just... bad. And I'm cool with anyone not being good at the game. Practice, maybe they're playing it casually, etc.
However, he couldn't communicate, at all. He never really tried, had lots of typos, made a jumbled mess of his paragraphs, etc. He was always asking for raid spots though, and got super pissed off if he didn't get them.

I remember back a couple expansions ago I had a guild with a couple of players I didn't like. The one in particular that bothered me most was the one that effectively insulted the other raiders for not putting forth more effort and trying to force progression to the point that very few people were in the mood to bother. The general scope of the guild was intended to be a casual raiding guild and while I can understand progression being a core aspect of raiding, this person couldn't seem to understand that a mountain of wipes was part of progression and thought everyone was bad. There were some other contributing issues as well, but as a result a lot of the raiders came only for farm runs and this particular guy eventually quit for a better guild with absolutely no warning.
I heard he also ditched this guild later and pulled a ninja server transfer.
In short, I greatly dislike elitist players who look down on others less skilled than them and this was by far one of the most frustrating ones I've seen. He seemed fine too, despite having that generally abrasive personality.

#317- What's your shopping list of fictional items? Pets or mounts count too.

Trollfucious would like to buy:
1)The maid robot from that Richie Rich cartoon who did all the cleaning and also was a superhero-type of maid robot
2)The food replicator thing from Star Trek so he did not have to ride his bike so much, or make mac and cheese
3) The sarcastic dog from Men in Black- Trollfucious would like to have a sarcastic dog, and he would name him Dogfucious the second, and maybe Dogfucious would be less lonely and could mentor the new Dogfucious
4) There was some movie that honorable mother watched where the man had a car which gave orange soda, and Trollfucious would like that if he could drive
5) The bottle of Axe in the commercials that make people get tackled, which is not what the real bottle does. The real bottle only makes Trollfucious sinuses act up, and his sinuses tackle him enough :(
6) Pretty jewelry for Trollfucious girlfriend
7) Rose Flowers and maybe the white flowers that are really tiny but all on the same stem for Trollfucious girlfriend
8) Boring movies where people cry the whole time and nothing explodes and there are no zombies that Trollfucious can watch with his girlfriend
Last three are not fictional items, but they are for fictional girlfriend, so Trollfucious put them on there anyway =D

Hmm...
1) A teleporter
2) A dragon, that doesn't get too big.
3) A girlfriend for Trollfucious because

made me sad :(

The honorable Rystrave does not need to be sad. Not having a girlfriend is not so bad for a figment like Trollfucuious- is much harder for non-figment people.

I hear Google is making something like that. It won't have night vision, infrared, or thermal vision. But I believe it will have the other things.
Tbh I'm surprised no one said a real lightsaber. But if Rank can have Element Zero then I want elemental bending powers.

lightsabers may be cool, but they're very impractical weapons. A wrong move, even a teeny tiny mistake and you can slice yourself in half.
I'd never dare to switch one on if I wasn't a jedi or sith.
