Funny how people are delaying til the weekend - we accelerated a nice dinner out to earlier this week instead. This weekend is pretty rough timing-wise, so it just wasn't worth trying to squeeze in something else.
On a side note - saw a Facebook post - 2 dozen long-stemmed red roses for $249 AUD... this is why I don't
buy
into the V-day hype!

I'm SOOOO lucky that my Reina is allergic to flowers :P while all those suckers have to burn cash on a plant that dies within a week and EVERYONE else is buying into, I don't have to do that. I just gave her a necklace of Dolphins that me and my brother made for her.
She loves dolphins <3

#291- Have you ever seen a movie or television program that you felt it was just really irresponsible to make? Something where you felt the message they were sending about drugs, violence, teen pregnancy or something like that was really dangerous or could do a lot of harm. I'm not talking just about messages that you personally disagree with, as much as something that justifies some atrocity, or suggests courses of action that could get people hurt or killed.
Also, I'm not looking to debate the merits of free speech necessarily, or whether or not people should be allowed to make such things. Just whether or not you have seen things that seem irresponsible to make.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##ElhonnaDS##DELIM##

I'll go ahead and say every TV show on MTV or VH1. I ended up watching part of something on MTV the other night, and the freshly graduated high schoolers were partying in the mothers house while she was gone. There was sex, booze, and drugs going on. I mean, I was the farthest away from being perfect when I was that age, but I don't think its right to show such behavior on public cable when its illegal in the first place.

The Bachelor and Bachelorette. As well as any other copycat "dating reality TV" show.
Real life Romance DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY, and people trying to use these as a model to build a stable relationship WILL GET HURT. Either emotionally or physically.
If there's another show I despise with all my might is "16 and pregnant" as I feel it glorifies being irresponsible with sex at a young age, and basically paints it as cool, being a teenage girl, and a single mom. REALLY HORRIBLE MESSAGE >_>
The producer of that show really deserves a punch in the face.

I saw a comedian once who said that "16 and Pregnant" was both a sequel and a prequel to "Toddlers and Tiaras"

I forgot that the title wasn't just about TVshows, but about movies and I'm guessing you know where I'm gonna go now:
Twilight.
Yerp, I went there.
Because how could we not love a movie that portrays a violent obsessive stalker and a passive-aggressive neurotic idiot as the ideal romantic story?
Sure girls, if that boy with the weird hairdo is staring at you, is following you everywhere, SNEAKING INTO YOUR ROOM TO WATCH YOU SLEEP, and openly says he loves to sniff your blood, it means he's the one for you. What could possibly go wrong?
/sarcasm ends here.
Seriously, this has got to be the most f***** up moral I've ever EVER seen. And this is ignoring yet another disturbing side of it: That Edward may look like a teenager, talk like a teenager, and even be as idiot as most teenagers, but he's actually a very adult, very old man. Who is dating a 15 year old girl. Who's daughter that is still a baby is dating a 30 year old manwolf.
Hold on, gimme a sec, I need the brain-bleach again.

288. The classic "Freddie Starr ate my hamster". Though these fictional ones are indistinguishable from the usual
Daily Mail
offerings.
289. Exercised for the first time in two weeks, ate a yoghurt bar sent by my mother, volunteered, attended a tutorial, Skyrim.
291. "The Blind Side". State schools lead to drug dealing and gang violence, parochial schools are the salvation of the population. Not so much irresponsible as propaganda.
Ed: Oh, also, "The Help" for blatant Coca Cola product placement and the "mmm, I loves me some fried chicken" line.

Well, 50 Shades is going to be a movie trilogy, so there's that.
I'll add anything that uses things like rape and mental illness as plot devices and not as real issues that need to be dealt with sensitively (GoT show version, for example... it seemed like all
that
scene was put there for was to try and put some "action" into Sansa's storyline). Also anything that un-ironically preaches racism, sexism, homophobia etc.

Someone i knew from my first year of university, would always ask for advice, do the opposite of what the advice was, get screwed over, and complain about it to everyone.
