Everything.
This. Specifically the release from the world around me that occurs often when I play games.

Depends on the type.
For RPG's, you get the story, which can be better than any movie released that year (example: TWEWY).
For shooters: the fact that I can blow stuff up with a rawket lawn chair.
For strategy: something about the management is fun, to me. I enjoy balancing everything and updating my economy, etc.

Mainly story and smooth gameplay, although i like hilarious ragdolling and console commands.
Screwing with stuff is also fun, like messing with scripted events in RTS's and doing crazy crap in halo and BF3.
Reasonable money spending/gaining is also a plus, like in Dead Space 2. As much as I like to hoard stuff, i don't like getting to a point where my profits ridiculously outweigh what i spend, because it just gets boring (skyrim, mafia II, etc)

#176- What is it about video games that you really enjoy?
Depends on the type.
Fighting Games: Great to work out frustrations.
RPG's: Too many to list.
Shooters: Guess you can work out the frustrations there too.
Adventure: More working out frustration.
Finally, any genre, just plain having fun.

way too many to list. I'll just go over the more important ones
Story, Dialog, Music, Shiny, maybe some fanservice (what? >_>) and a chance to see impressive vistas.
Any game that can deliver all of the above, is an ace in my book. (fanservice is optional, if its there, great, if its not, no biggie. If there's too much, that's a negative)
Mostly I like a game where I can fully immerse myself in both the story, and the setting. And not many can do that. Bioware is a MASTER at this, which is why I thoroughly enjoy their games, but Bethesda is equally good at it.

I'd probably say for the immersion factor, whether it's the story (kind of like any book I read), character development (in both the plot and pure gaming sense), environment, and music (to match the mood), but also because it's fun to feel like I've accomplished something (that, in most cases, would be impossible to achieve in real life anyways).

You sound quite frustrated over there...
I play for the challenge and satisfaction of overcoming obstacles. If it has a great plot and soundtrack, then so much the better.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##Squishalot##DELIM##

If I didn't have video games in high school, I would have been in a crap ton of trouble for fights lol.

I honestly haven't been to the doctor in forever (besides the usual once a year deal). The last time I remember really going is when I had a staph infection, about 5 years ago.

I could probably go more, but it's such an effort and expense (where I live we pay for GPs but not prescriptions, in the mainland UK it's the other way around). I only go if there's a problem I have never encountered before or that I have and know it requires prescription or if I need a sick note for something, generally.
