Midsummer Festival! :DI am currently trying to do the achievements for every world event, and so far the Midsummer Festival has been the funniest one and most memorable so far. The title is pretty amazing, and the achievements were suprisingly funnier than I thought!I've got a feeling that when the Lunar Festival hits it's going to take the place, but we'll just wait and see =)
There is in fact only one correct response to this: winterveil. Gather round children, for a tale pulled straight from the annals of ye olde vanillacraft.Once upon a time, there was a fearsome snowy valley in Alterac, where savage armies would battle for days at a time (literally). In one particular battle, the fierce warriors of the frostwolf clan had nearly won the day, battling the stormpike guardsmen all the way back to the gates of their keep (specifically the bridge, this part is important). Now, in ye olden days this would have been a significant achievement, representing hours and hours worth of effort, fought inch by inch (and perhaps brightened by an appearance by frosty the snowman, who these days is woefully all but forgotten in the valley, but I digress). With victory in sight, the brave Horde heroes mounted a final assault on Dun Baldar keep, intent on ejecting those ale swilling stunties from their valley once and for all. One particularly dashing (and if I might say, handsome and possessing a genius level intellect) mage led the charge, carving a swathe of destruction which would surely have been regaled in song and dance for eons to come, had the next unfortunate turn of events not happened. POOF! The mage felt something hit the back of his head, and before he could even think, he was sent soaring from the keep's bridge to the frosty tundra below. POOF POOF POOF POOF! Several of his comrades suffered the same fate. Now, this particularly mage, who we have established to be of such a keen intellect and charming persona, had the presence of mind to activate his slowfall ability, limiting the crushing impact at the end of his trip. He was, however, able to observe with a sharp mix of amusement and sadness the frosty craters that marked the graves of his former friends. Looking up to the carnage above, the mage soon realized what had happened-- the foul stunties had somehow managed to imbue snow (COMMON SNOW!) with the ability to launch an enemy in a trajectory rivaling that of the finest blood bowl punters (oops, wrong IP, forget I said that). The battle raged on with a fervent intensity. Hours and hours they pushed at one another-- every brutal offense met with the soft splat of a snowball impact, followed by the dull thud of a Wiley Coyote-esque death below. The Alliance won the day. Sadness forever.I miss old AV, even when I was being punted.
I like brewfest. The quests are the most amusing to me.
My favorite Holiday would have to be Hallow's End, reason being I am getting to be too old for Halloween, so I am no longer allowed to dress up and go out Trick or Treating. It's unfortunate because I love dressing up, and of course there is no harm in getting a little candy along the way whilst having some fun. So since I can't do so in real life, I can go on WoW and do as much Trick or Treating as I want, I love being able to go from place-to-place picking up my "Handful Of Treats" in each Inn, I also love that sometimes you get tricked and you turn into a random creature. It really makes me happy since now that I am the candy giver instead of the candy getter, I know that no matter how old I get I can still have my Halloween fun in-game. :) The fun, and excitement never dies. Plus, I look forward to Hallow's End each year because I still have not yet recieved my Horseman's Reins, that contributes to the suspense each and every year seeing as I collect mounts, and the Horseman's Reins is the best Holiday mount in my opinion by far. :D Thanks Blizz for keeping the kid in me alive. ^_^
Hallows End is the best! In real life its Halloween, the one time you get be whatever you want. With WOWs hallows end its two weeks of not stop fun, weighted pumpking throwing, headless horseman dungeon, and oh yes, least I forget the dousing of the HORDE Wickerman. I can think of nothing better than two weeks of fun in trick-n-treating and changing one's party members into other characters with special wands or being changed. This is best season and WOW made it better.
For me, definitely Winter Veil, and not just because it was the first in-game holiday I encountered when I started playing in 2007. It was also the first time I played an online game with my teenage (now adult) kids, and the first real-world holiday I was able to spend with them in two years (because of Army deployments, etc.). It also helped that the weather outside matched the weather in Dun Morogh. My second favorite was the Lunar Fest, because I discovered that falling off cliffs in-game (or off Thunder Bluff while running away) can create vertigo for players in the real world and because the festival dumplings eliminate the need for pretty much any other food for the rest of the year....but I wish there was more to spend Coins on.
Hallow´s End is for sure the best one. The quests are great and you can get some cool companion pets!
Hallow's End : i can pvp in bat form with my rogue, and some noobs ignore me because they think i'm a hunter pet :D
