In my personal opinion, the most entertaining holiday in World of Warcraft is actually Hallows end. The reason for this is because you can get nice drops for your high level characters, and there are really cool themed places with Jack'o'lanterns and lots of festive lights all over the main cities. I am not sure if they still have trick-or-treating with the inn keepers anymore, which I also thought was pretty cool and considering that it was for all levels it was a good addition. I always enjoy looking forward to seeing the new things that will drop from the Headless Horseman next year!
What is your favorite holiday in World of Warcraft and why?It has to be Christmas! I just love that holiday, here are some pointers of why I absolutely love this holiday:
Winter Veil. No other reason than the awesome toy robot I got in 2007 :)
I like Dwarf .....then i love Brewfes!t Heeeeelll Yeaaaahhhh!.....hic!
My favorite WoW holiday would have to be any that can get me a new mount! As I push my way towards that coveted blue dragonhawk it gets more exciting every drop! Finally in the 90's...oh blue dragonhawk, why must you tease me!
My favourite holiday has always been Hallow's End. I simply love the creepy atmosphere and this year's new pet, the Creepy Crate, is just awsome! Furthermore, the Headless Horseman is the easiest and most fun ("get over here you idiot!") of the holiday bosses and is - in contrast to the Frost Lord - easily manageable for a multiboxing party. ;-)
My Favorite holiday is children's week. I'm a Pet Freak, and the possibility of 3 pets as well as teaching (or tourchering) a young orphan is just fun. Especially when you port to home and leave them behind. you have one of those "OH CRAP" moments of like WHERE IS MY KID! lol.rengots
I'm a new player, but I would have to say Brewfest. Nothin' does a dwarf better than partying it up with your brothers in arms.
Hallow's End is by far my favorite holiday, For several reasons. One, Halloween is my favorite holiday in real life, and two, My birthday always falls during Hallow's End. :D
Hallow's End, mostly because it was my first "real" WoW holiday - I first started playing right before it began that year. Being a low level and seeing his headless horseman swooping around town and taunting everyone - well that was a hell of an upgrade from EverQuest "events".
I would just LOVE to say Brewfest, but, I have something better. My first time playing WoW was a Trial, early last year. The first week I played, was during the Lunar Festival, and of course, a few of my friends suggested we head up and checkout the event! So we took the portal and where on our way! As we where talking along the path, we where also having a conversation over Skype, and all of a sudden they started talking about the "Giant three headed Dog" That came out of the lake!At first I thought "Oh that's just nifty."And then, I turned my camera to the left.First impressions of WoW? I believe the direct quote was "HOLY FUUUUUUUHUHUUUUUUUDGE!".Then of course, me, being the ballsy person I am, attacked it while I was only level 17.In the end, we all had a great laugh, and a fun time! And that's why I like Lunar festival the best!
Hallow's End for sure.My love for all holiday events started with it, since at that point i wanted to go for the 'What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been'-achievement. Though i had a love-hate relationship with it for a while, since at that point i wasnt able to finish one requirement for the achievement.Though when hitting next year at an other Hallow's End, i finished the achievement and thus completing the most long-term achievement in wow. I was happy.Hallow's End marks the begining of a new wow chapter while also ending it. Man it was a good year :)Happy Halloween everyone!
Personally I love the Feast of Winter Veil holiday, with Hallow's end coming in a close second. Winter veil just brings back so many memories from in game events. I remember when snowballs + alterac valley + alliance bridge = win (when they knocked your party members around). Not only just the memories from ridiculous things but the little mini combat pet thing you get each year, I spend HOURS playing that %^&* all day with anyone who would fight me. So yea Winter's Veil FTW.
Pretty hard to choose between Hallow's End and Brewfest, but I'd say Brewfest wins by the smallest amount just due to how much the holiday is about fun. No tension between Horde and Alliance, just beating up drunk Dark Iron Dwarves. No showing an orphan your 1337 killing skills, just trying to steer your ram while blind drunk. No stink bombing the enemy cities or being turned into frisky rabbits, just buying your Brew of the Month pass so you can get sloshed in silly ways all year round. 100% fun (except for not getting my Kodo for 3 years D:).
