Winter Veil for me. Xmas has always been my fav holiday in my real life, so it just makes since its my fav in my wow life. Plus my first toon was a dwarf, So it was nice having Santa in IF near the big tree! oh yeah and gifts!
Hallow's End! I love going around with a mask on my face and a bucket in my hand :D
My favorite holiday so far is Halloween.I liked to travel around the map to collect sweets. There many stuff to do, like everyday quests. I also like the atmosphere of childish mischief and old "traditional" magic, not like the one in battle spells, but like the one in old fairy tales. And cat pet on a broom just adorable :)
Winter Veil, most definitely! It may not be quite as world-encompassing as Hallow's End (My very-close-second favorite, and obviously spread out over Azeroth via Trick-or-Treating), but it changes the atmosphere and behavior of the community, at least in my experience. I see a lot more friendliness in trade, lowbies getting help and advice that isn't trolling, and people offering materials for holiday quests at affordable - if not free! - prices. My friends and I collect eggs during the year, for example, and during the holiday we set up in a city and offer them up for free or tips, especially if the AH is inflated. It's just a fun time. I mean, snowball fights, flying reindeer, festive gnome transformations, presents - what's not to like? Add in the tendency for players will less time to log in more often, and it's a great time! :)
It was a dark night, getting cold as winter slowly drew nearer. Chills ran down my spine as another pitifully kitted out tank lead the group into Scarlet Monastery. The only hunter still in leather at this point, for my fellows had fell sin to being the Big Reds, with their trusty Ravagers sheathed on their back. As the Scarlet Crusade effortlessly cut through our tank and proceeded to mow the rest of us down, I thought to myself “I got Burning Crusade last week for my birthday last week, why don’t I just make a pally? Tanking can’t be THIS hard can it?”. Sindalor, the Blood Elf tankadin was born. My miniscule attention span found creating new characters boring, and so I decided I’d park up in Brill and wait for my best friend to catch up to me. At the young level of 8, 3.0.2 hit WoW. Achievements were officially added to the World of Warcraft. Sindalor remained neglected for a few days, as the new talents had Zheng more to my fancy at the time. Hallow’s End had hit, and being amazed by such things, I had to explore what treats the Headless Horseman had for me. Being new to this all, I was absolutely thrilled with what Hallow’s End had to offer, including my very first trick or treating reward, Larry, my faithful Sinister Squashling.Through Azeroth, Outlands, Icecrown Citadel and now the sundered Azeroth, Sindalor and Larry are plowing on, 3 years on from the very day they were united. Hallow’s End and Halloween in general are by far my favored holidays, as nothing quite beats half of the tricks me and my mates played on some of the trick or treaters over the years. :)
Children's Week. It's the only time of the year that I can really take advantage of taking care of a kid and get paid in the process, and receive free stuff of course. Not to mention by the end of my adventures I don't have to commit to keeping the orphan. "thanks for the free stuff little Billy, but I'm not going to adopt you; back to the orphanage you go. See you again next year" (orphan balls his eyes out) *snicker* :D
Hollow's End for me. The story of the Headless Horseman AKA Sir Thomas Thomson is pretty cool. I've also always admired characters that talk and rhyme. And Halloween is the best Holiday IRL.
Hallow's End for sure. Followed by Winterveil. There needs to be a Xmas boss that drops epic bags and hats.
Brewfest easily, the awsome mounts all the achivements all the dwarves and the beer. It's just #1!
brewfest. all the funny achivments it includes like that one you need to have 3/3 peaces of brewfest and dance in dalaran. or probly last years easter. (no reason on easter)
I really like Winter Veil- I've always been a fan of winter in real life, and there's nothing better then having everything covered in snow. Especially when you wake up in the morning and look out the window and everything is freshly covered and its so quiet. Love it. So, I associate Christmas with that, and associate Winter Veil with Christmas. I also love spending most of Winter Veil in Ironforge, because of the snow outside.
Hallows End, gotta love the whole feel of the thing, evil horsemen, pumpkins, candy... I like most of the holidays now they've been done up and improved but this one has to be my favourite.
Midsummer Fire Festival is my personal favorite. The floating candle decorations, the scorchlings with momentary, incense-fueled delusions of Firelord-dom, the run into Silvermoon bringing back memories of what city raids were like before flight in Classic zones. Getting a torch to the head because of lag while chasing shadows, mad key mashing for the juggling achieve, spinnyspinny dancing -- there are so many memorable game experiences that are specific to this holiday. Midsummer was happening when my first character hit 80 and when my favorite alt hit 85, so killing Ahune was an extra thrill in both cases.
My favorite WoW holiday festival has to be Hallow's End! Opportunities to explore the world while collecting treat buckets can lead to exploration achievements and where else do you get the opportunity to be someone new each day? Love the pirate and ninja buffs you can get from either the wands or via the treats in the inns. The bat is awesome as well! And talk about an incredible selection of pets! The Sinister Squashling, Feline Familiar and the coolest one of all, the Creepy Crate! That was an excellent take-off of Rincewind's Luggage from the Terry Pratchett's Discworld Series of books and what fantastic animation, lol! ;P I was lucky and hit the Headless Horseman's mount last year on my main and use it for my primary flying mount year-round! Even ahead of the drakes. Definitely, hands down the best damn holiday that WoW has put together! :)
