I actually really enjoy Hallows End. Personally if you are like myself and have several low level characters this event is fantastic for helping them level. It also gives one many choices and options of things to do across all your characters through the achievements and daily quests as well as the bread crumb quests. The Masquerade achievement is a ton of fun just trying to find all the classes. It's also helpful in teaching, if you will, newer players just what a certain class looks like so they can easily and quickly recognize them later on. I will say I don't enjoy as much the Tricks and Treats of XXX as much as the other quests/achievemetns as that gets VERY tedious on your 3rd, 5th or even 12th character, hehe.
When I first started playing in October, a few years ago, my brother had just introduced me to WoW and I had no clue how to play. The first holiday I experienced was Hallow's End and as you can probably guess, did not understand a thing. Everyone remembers how it feels to play WoW for the first few days/weeks. You are enchanted by its beauty. You sense wanderlust to explore this mysterious, vast, new world. For some, like I, fall in love with the lore behind it all. My first character was an Undead, quietly leveling in Brill. When I logged in hearing the Headless Horseman’s taunting rhymes I was immediately intrigued. I looked around to see players cooperating together to put flames out. I observed costumes, decorations, and walking jack-o-lanterns. I witnessed my beloved holiday come to life in a virtual world brilliantly. It’s the one day a year when you can truly be what you are, or who you want to be, without regard to most social conventions. Like I said earlier, everyone always reminiscences their first experience with WoW and I’m glad to have had it with my favorite holiday, in both worlds.x
Winter's Veil - I like the decorations and its always fun looking forward to opening presents.
The best of all holidays in WoW is Pirate Day, no stress, no grinding, just celebrating the one per Yeaaaarrrrrrr festivities in Booty Bay ;)On the other side i simply hate Midsummer Festival, cause Frigid Frostling just hates me and keep hiding from me! :)
I would have to say Winter Veil. It is the first holiday event I have ever participated in and it was amazing. Also the fact that we actually got presents in game made it even better :D
The Feast of Winter VeilMakes all the others paleWith presents galoreGood food, drink and moreSuch merrymaking you cannot ignore
Hallow's End is my favourite. Not only is it the equivalent of my favourite actual holiday (Halloween) but I just love the fun quests, the Headless Horseman's quirky rhymes, the adorably spooky companion pets and how the holiday changes the overall feel of the game for those two weeks. Besides...What other holiday encourages dressing up like anything you want and eating obscene amounts of candy!
My favorite Warcraft holiday is Hallow's End because I love Halloween. It's got the supernatural theme that I love, plus an awesome looking mount and little adorable companions like the little broom riding kitty cat. :)
Children's week. My best thing about World of Warcraft is the scenery and exploring new places. I just loved to bring those poor enfants out of their boring everyday normal life and share the world with them. And also I found it very amusing to eat candy/icecream in front of them for the 'Bad Example' achievement :)
Definitely Winter Veil. I never got to celebrate Christmas in RL. During Winter Veil I get to do with my WoW family all the things I heard about other people doing with their families (plus many crazy wow extras:) Random snowball fights + fun new presents under the tree in IF make it my favorite!
As someone who mains a Dwarf, I can only say: Brewfest.
For me, I'd say the best holiday is easily Hallow's End. The headless horseman rising every year to set fire to towns throughout the game, and the fun that can be had with friends either dousing fires, ganking the horseman in Scarlet Monastery, or even doing something simple like trick or treating for hours on end makes this one of the best holidays. Blizz does a fantastic job with every holiday, but they really go all out with this one. Definitely seems this may be their collective favorite, too!
I'd have to say my favorite WoW holiday, is Winter's Veil. The reason is because it is a time of year when the community stops treating each other like jerks, and comes together as a community. Both factions take time out from their wars and focuses on celebration of the ending of a year. And it is a time of the year when we can cook some goodies that are only available during winter's veil, like eggnog, and gingerbread cookies. The toys under the tree are a perfect finish to the year. So that is my answer.
It's a close tie between Winter's Veil and Hallow's End. But I always loved Christmas as a kid, so it's Winter's Veil for me. All the decorations and people running around in Ironforge dressed in their Winter's Veil attire and with their little reindeers following them, it's just too magical for me! Let's hope they revamp it a tad this year to make it even more excellent!
