I wonder how they plan on making up for the stats on the melee weapon that we will be losing.

I know right? =)

Other classes will be losing their stat sticks as well, albeit ranged slots tend to carry less stats than melee slots... Casters will be losing weapons too it seems, in favor of wands.

I think it's perfectly fair.
BTW, do NOT make a thread on the hunter talents announced at Blizzcon. I am already making a thread!

yup. All relics will be gone, and wands will become mainhand weapons instead of mages and priests now using 1h weapons like maces and daggers.
So everyone loses 1 weapon slot they're not using much anyway (except maybe thrown for rogues).
I think they'll probably just make abilities not require Thrown or something like that.

The other classes will be able to throw their mh weapons to counter the relic slot disappearing
What i want is for blizzard to just add 1h/2h values to our ranged weapons and allow us to Dual Wield Crossbows and such, Not Bows considering those should be a 2h weapon obviously but add Rifles as a 2h and Guns/Pistols as 1h etc.. Now that would be hot

Our melee weapons have way higher stats than ranged weapons and relics though. Certainly all the classes won't be loses the same amount, so they are going to have to do a little bit of balancing one way or another.

We'll get Ettin's Grip soon enough.

Considering they probably haven't finished balancing ranged weapons for MoP yet, I can guarantee they'll be balancing out the weapons.

I am slightly confused by the Wand thing though...
Does that mean that Casters will only get Wands and off-hands? Will one-hand Intellect weps be pretty much only for Shamans and Paladins? (off-topic for hunters so I'll stop here)
It's possible, yes.

It's possible, yes.
Would remind me of
this
when I use to play Runescape. We could have wands and a OH item, but we used the wand in our casting animations. (one nice thing about that was if using magic you can equip a shield and tank some of the damage (omg I think I wanna go play RS a little now >.<).
What I'm getting at is this will be what its like. Wands will be on the same par as daggers and swords, but not replacing the daggers, swords or staves we're currently using.
OT: Deadzone being gone is great if you're playing as a hunter, which I do on my alt. Not so great for my main as I use to blink in there and leave them helpless. My friend, who's main is a hunter and only pvps, doesn't like the change either as he says that was their only weakness.

That's the reason it was removed. The Hunter's problems were way too great in number - they simply decided to actually start removing them.
This was even a problem in PvE:
Source(s): Malygos, Marrowgar, Heroic Marrowgar, any other boss with an enormous hitbox, Hodir (buff spots end up in melee range), etc
Can't forget some world encounters such as: Aeonaxx, before it was fixed in 4.0.6 (you had to melee it to death prior...and it took 30 minutes.)
