This might tempt me to actually buy Diablo 1 and 2

I'm most likely going to buy it tomorrow, primarily for the kickass mount and beta access for MoP, I've been planning on buying the collector's edition of Diablo 3, if I possibly can.

Okay, two questions I have that I'm a little confused about...
First off, here's this gem from the FAQ:
I have an active subscription already. What happens to the time I already paid for?
Any qualifying subscription time remaining on the account at the time of accepting the Annual Pass offer may be applied toward the 12-month subscription commitment.
For example: If you had started a 6-month subscription 2 months prior to accepting the Annual Pass offer, 4 months of your remaining subscription time would be applied toward your 12-month subscription commitment.
Doesn't that basically mean I'm already qualified since my account has been consistently active for over a year?
And if not, does this mean I have nothing to lose if I sign up, I don't need to screw around reapplying my subscription or tweaking it or anything?
The worst that happens if I suddenly stop my subscription halfway through this 'commitment' is I don't get to keep Diablo III or qualify for free WoW beta? Do I lose the mount too? Or is there going to be some absurd 'sorry you MUST keep paying' crap?
You don't understand what a commitment is? Once you sign-up for the Annual Pass,
you cannot cancel it
. That means you will pay for the next 12 months one way or another. And it's not absurd...you agree to pay for 12 months of WoW and in return they give you something worth $60 for free. If you think that's absurd, then you have a lot to learn. Do you know why Verizon. AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile will give you a $600 phone for $200? The same reason Blizz is giving you a free $60 game.
Edit: And to answer your first question, no. Reading comprehension is not your strong suit is it? Once you sign up for the Annual Pass, something you could not have done until now, the next 12 months of game time count towards that 12 month commitment. However, if you've already purchased 6 months and used 2 months, as an example, they will allow you to count those remaining 4 months since you will not have actually used those months until after you signed up for the Annual Pass. Plus it would not be fair if you were not allowed to count those months since you would essentially be required to be subscribed for the next 16 months. I can't really explain any better than that.

You will get four free months of WoW if you buy the collector's edition of D3. So there's that too.

Oh cool:
What if I purchase the Diablo III Collector's Edition?
If you decide to purchase the Diablo III Collector's Edition when it's available, and then choose to add your Collector's Edition license key to the Battle.net account associated with your existing World of Warcraft Annual Pass promotion, you will receive all of the benefits associated with the Collector's Edition, plus receive four months of World of Warcraft game time which is eligible towards your 12-month subscription commitment. After you purchase the Diablo III Collector's Edition you just need to input the product key into the Battle.net account associated with your World of Warcraft 12-month commitment and that account will then receive the next 4 months of World of Warcraft game time for free. For example, if you already had a month of game time on the associated World of Warcraft account when you input your Diablo III Collector's Edition product key, it would then be 5 months until your next subscription payment was due.
I'll take my four free months~!
I don't think it works that way. The way I read it, it just reimburses you for the Diablo III component of the Annual Pass, so it's not a freebie.
Basically:
1) Buy 12 months of subscription, get D3 free (worth 4 months).
2) Buy D3 CE, pay D3 price plus CE premium.
3) Instead of having two copies of D3, they give you 4 months WoW subscription instead, so that you're only paying the CE premium by buying the collector's edition.

No, I do understand what a 'commitment' is, but I'm not sure how they can guarantee I am going to keep paying if they allow things like a month-to-month option. what's to stop me from quitting this 'relationship' anyway? It's still absurd if it turns out I can no longer even play for some reason... but if my only option is to pay a full 12 months ahead of time, then it doesn't matter, does it?
Your explanation for the faq paragraph makes sense. Thank you for your clarification, but not for your unnecessary insults.

Hmm, I wonder how long this will be active. I don't want to pay for the next twelve months only to run to ToR when it comes out as I seem to be leaning towards. Although, if I don't particularly like ToR and I decide to return to WoW then the annual subscription might be an option.

Hope it's not another 'your central european country is not actually in Europe, sorry' answer.
I'm scared about that.
I just open a ticket to ask them why my account is not eligible.
I advise you to do the same and also ask your friends to do so.

That's exactly what I meant... it's still free months. Buying the CE would cost $100 USD, they're giving you four free months (~$60 USD), so you only pay half price for the CE technically.

Does anyone know when you get THE MOUNT? Is it immediately upon buying it or does it come later when the D3 comes out?
You get it when 4.3 hits.

It's a contract. You are agreeing to pay for 1 year, like a cellphone. Even if you drop your phone in the toilet you are still contractually obliged to pay the full amount.

Yeah, but then you're paying for two copies of D3, and only getting one. I'd encourage people to think of it as paying $40 for the CE extra stuff, and paying the remaining $60 for your 4 months, and that this is Blizz's way of not really thinking through their incentives fully.
Anyone know if RaF free months counts toward 12-month from Annual Pass?
At a guess, it should. They've said that any existing credit counts towards the 12 months. Basically, the promotion is a bribe to get you to stay subscribed for the next 12 months, not necessarily to buy 12 new months of gameplay.

money upfront in almost any business dealing is bad.
You don't have to pay upfront.
You can pay monthly if you want.

Do we know if MoP will be out within that 1 year?
It better be! They have stated 4.3 is the last patch with a raid in it for Cata. There is no freaken way I'm playing 1 damn raid for over a year.
So when do you think they are going to add the mount to the ptr?
Does anyone know when you get THE MOUNT? Is it immediately upon buying it or does it come later when the D3 comes out?
I wish people would just go read the FAQ. It comes with the launch of patch 4.3.
Edit: FINALLY SOMEONE INCLUDES NEW ZEALAND IN SOMETHING! YAY!

Just had a thought - if you quit, then they're within their rights to cancel your free D3 account, or at the least, they'd be likely to suspend it, since that's the benefit you get from the contract. The other option would be to sue you for the cash difference, but that seems like the least PR friendly option. D3 cancellation is both low fuss and fair, all things considered.
