ok it looks like everyone don't like the new changes I'm sure there's not going to change the lvl you get your spells just the talent lvl you get the talent spell, but i can see way some people are worry. but that's how i see it
Okay i typed out an entire rant, but deleted it in favor of something alittle more...non-ranting.The new talent trees are interesting, however i don't like what it's replacing. I feel it would have been better to find a way to have it replace our completely useless glyph system that is nothing more then talents you have to purchase from another player. The concept of having to choose a utility/cooldown is actually a great idea but i think their implementing it badly. I understand they put alot of work into it, but they of all people should understand how integral talent trees are in this game. Have they not seen warhammer online? Even though the fact remains that cookie-cutter builds would probably have always been apart of the game people still like to believe they are making the choice of applying that build to their character. Now that choice has been completely taken away. I'm not sure i like this at all...i honestly hope this is one of those things that just get scrapped or completely changed before release.edit: Oh and btw all the people in this thread saying the pandas are retarded probably haven't played any of the Warcrafts. This isn't new...the pandareans aren't some new race they came up with over the past few months. Before wow was even made the pandareans have been apart of warcraft and as adam said....people have been begging blizzard for years to have them put in. There's just been some issues with China...panda's are sacred in china and with china accounting for half of WoW's subscriber base it's a pretty risky business decision to allow the pandareans into the game.
i wrote a huge rant on my blog but won't link it here. one thing that i will say is that there's always the chance that they'll scrap the idea. i forget the name of the featurein Cataclysm (Path of the Titans?) but that got scrapped. perhaps, if people are vocal enough, we can shut down the awful revision towards the talent system. However, i think if that occurs, you also have to provide some very good constructive ideas to replace it. I personally want a deeper version of the pre-Cata talent system or more points that i can spend between trees, giving rise to truly hybrid specs.the only other thing i could suggest is to eliminate the level cap and provide an array of skills/talents that people can upgrade as they level. kinda like Diablo 2. for instance, a fireball spell that scales depending on how many points you place into that skill/spell. or a wall of fire spell that increases in size. etc.
Uhh... Well, that talent system is... Different...Definitely going to spend that $60 on GW2 instead.
There is still gonna be a talent tree under this new one right? I see it as this being like when you pick a tree at lvl 10 you get a special ability, except now you get to choose more special abilities further down the road as well.So when you hit lvl 15, 30, 45 etc. You get a new specialization, including having talent points in between those intervals

I'm curious as to whether the poisons you apply using the talented abilities stack or replace the poisons on your current weapons. If they don't stack I don't see much point in speccing them, though leeching poison is rather nice. But then again having two poisons up on one weapon would be over powered I suppose. Regardless, the starts of the talents at least look interesting.
I can't wait for it :D! Rouge will be kinda pwner :P .

The priest talents look just a little... off to me. There's a lot more shadow on the tree than I figured would be, considering how focused Blizz has been on Holy and Discipline lately. I do like how each tier has a particular theme though.
