Tank Legendary idea...

Okay, Bizzard says a tank legendary would be too inclusive and couldn't benefit all the tanks, right?
This just hit me:
A one handed sword legendary, able to be equipped by every tank spec unless I'm mistaken. Could be a mace or whatever also, but meh. Anyway, one might say this only works for Pallies and Warriors, right?
Wrong.
As a legendary, this weapon could clearly be given the stats of a TWO HANDED weapon, making it just as viable for all four tanks. Meanwhile, during the quest chain, there happens to be a reward choice at one point.
One is a shield which works in conjunction with the legendary. Obviously for warriors and paladins. The other? An off-hand. A tanking off-hand for Druids or DKs.
Tanks get a legendary, usuable by any tank. Thoughts?

One handed swords can't be used by druids.
One handed maces can, however, be used by all tank classes.

I coulda sworn my druid guildy rolled on a sword for healing or something. Must of been a dagger.
Never leveled a druid far, so yeah.

I thought DKs couldn't have an off-hand unles its a sword of some sort, which would mean a druid couldn't use.

Any class can hold an off-hand item.

I think you're forgetting the fact that there's no mainhand for druids t ogo with that offhand, and that DK tanks use 2-handed weapons.

All 4 tanking classes work on their legendary through the questing right? At a certain point, it becomes a "Druid" questline, that gives them their Agi Polearm/Staff with dodge as a secondary stat so it might become less desirable for Kitties. Same with DKs and a 2h Axe/Sword/Mace with tanking stats. Then Pallies/Warriors get the 1h tanking weapon. All four classes would do the same quests, but the rewards are tuned specifically for their class only.

What? An off-hand ITEM not weapon, ITEM.
And what is the difference between using a two handed sword, or a one-handed sword with the same stats?

Druids can't use a true weapon as an off hand, as they can't duel wield.

A 2h sword will generally have a slower weapon speed and higher weapon damage, combined with more weapon DPS.
The 1h sword will be faster and lower weapon damage, combined with lower weapon DPS.

IT WON'T BE A WEAPON
It will be an off-hand ITEM
You know, like those books that inscriptionists make?
And what is to stop the 1-hander from being just as good as a 2-hander?

Game balance. Having a one hander having same stats as a two hander would make those classes that can DW or even have a sheild in the OffHand be stupidly OP. Usually 2 hander weapons are roughly equal to two 1-hander weapons.

Except it will have tank stats, and the off-hand item will be just as useful as the shield.

And what is to stop the 1-hander from being just as good as a 2-hander?Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm Because Blood is the Tank spec, which has talents that make it so it's better to use a Two Hander always.

I fail to see any.
Keep in mind, they would not be dual-wielding. It is a one-hander in MH, and an off-hand shield-replacement for stats.
They don't have any talents that only effect 2-handers.

Bad idea massively. Would make a hell of a lot more sense to just give the Tank classes an actual weapon that works best for them: Polearm/Staff for Druid, Two Hander Sword/Axe/Mace for the DK, and one handed swords for Paladins and Warriors.
Why would two classes that tank with 2 handers both choosing a one hander?
Edit: Especially when by tanking with a one hander but no off hander, you gimp yourself massively;
Rune of the Stoneskin Gargoyle
compared to
Rune of the Nerubian Carapace
.

Because, used in conjunction with the off-hand item, it would have better stats than the two-hander?
