Seeing as fighting is obviously a huge part of the game, people tend to grow tired of their casting/melee animations that are given to each class. Granted, Blizzard made most of the animations cool, but still, they aren't that many (only around 4 casting and melee attacking animations, I think?). Ofcourse, there are
numerous ways a player can do to change them, but these are only temporary and often require quite a bit of an
effort to earn.
So here goes my idea: To allow a feature that allows a player to purchase a battle animation.
In details, it would probably work like this:
In each capital city, you would have 12 'battletrainers', each one representing their race. (even from the other faction). Battletrainers can teach you an animation of their own class, where you can handpick a certain move (casting or melee) that you like. In exchange, you would have to pay a fair price for a move, which would always grow each time you'd learn a new animation (think talent reset).
I could imagine that programming this would not be too hard for a company like Blizzard.
There are ups and downs on this feature.
Blizzard gets a money sink, players feel more in touch with their character, and it refreshens fighting in WoW.
However, each race would be less unique and transforming items would have less value towards players.
But what do you think? I would love to hear your opinion on this idea, how you can balance and refine the idea. Please comment and have a say on this ! :)
