god is

god. God with capital G is THE God of a religion.

There is a difference between god little g and God; since among the little g gods there can be those stronger and weaker then them, while the God is the most powerful being in existence.
Regardless, as any god, capitalised or not, is by its very definition a supernatural.

Why does every thread end up arguing about what should go in the thread? Just give it a rest everyone! Can't we all just take a breath, realize that people have different opinions about what supernatural means to them, and then continue on with our lives? It's okay! Be happy!

Do you really need to go on and on about the religion itself when you are discussing demons/daemons since they exist across multiple beliefs.
god is

Bingo.
Why does every thread end up arguing about what should go in the thread? Just give it a rest everyone! Can't we all just take a breath, realize that people have different opinions about what supernatural means to them, and then continue on with our lives? It's okay! Be happy!
Because some things cause massive arguments? Look back at the 'discussion' between KDB and the rest; is that really needed in the thread?

There really isn't any difference between discussing god or 'God'...
They are 'supremely powerful' beings... and certainly supernatural.
What is next? We can discuss devils but not the 'Devil'?

From reading this thread i now believe the Westboro Baptist Church has invaded wowhead and is taking over.
I wish Brother. If that happened Priests werent gonna be in there nerfed state they are now (especially Shadow PvP!).
If the Westboro Baptist Church had invaded Wowhead, Wowhead would be gone. The rabid idiots of the WBC consider WoW - all games, in fact - to be tools of Satan.
Oh, and in response to "just believing you", KDB? No. Not a chance. And I hereby call
Poe's Law
on you.
For the first thing i have to agree with you, sorry my mistake. But ofcourse i did not mean it literally i mean i knowh that the Westboro Baptist Church (And most other Churches for that matter) think of the internet and all games as a tool of Satan (which really is),so i was mearly joking.
And about the second thing?Well i tryed to help and wasted alot of nerves on this but,if you dont believe me im very sad,you can still be saved some 20-30 years after you grow up (i have no idea how old you are) you can actaully have the luck of realizing the existance of the Lord.

I'm 32. I was a practicing Christian for the first 16 years of my life. You've provided nothing that can be construed as credible evidence in any realistic sense, nor even an idea that I haven't heard thousands of times before.
My final reply on the matter, because as others have pointed out there are numerous religious threads already and there's no need to hijack this thread for yet another religious discussion:
Religion actively repels the concept of evidence, instead, basing its existence in faith. Faith, in turn, is an extension of sincerity - in this case, that the sincerity of your beliefs somehow proves them. However, there are billions of people in the world who are just as sincere in their own non-Christian beliefs. To question the sincerity of the beliefs of others, while asking that we accept your claims based only on the sincerity of your faith, is truly insincere.

I'm just going to say right now, Angels/Demons/gods/God don't belong in this thread. This is for things such as elves/ghosts and the like.

Aren't demons usually clumped right in with more religious-styled ghosts and usually blamed for their doings?

I guess it depends on your definition. But I'm a pedant and usually try to go by a dictionary definition so there's a solid basis for debate, heh.
Supernatural
: Attributed to some force beyond scientific understanding or the laws of nature
I think that generally describes religious phenomena as well.

While it does, supernatural and religion are generally kept apart and those who practice religion can get offended if you lump their religion with things such as vampires and werewolves. Let's just keep God and the like out, just in case.

I'm happy to keep them out. I think we have enough threads
sacrificed
dedicated to them already. ;)

Though I would like to have it here, I don't want the thread to get locked as a another religious dumpsite...

But yeah, I don't mind avoiding religion. You all know my views, you've heard everything I have to say on the matter before, and besides kdb's trolling/idiocy, there isn't really any need to cover old ground.
I don't believe in anything supernatural, from ghosts to vampires and beyond. Everything we observe can be explained by natural phenomenon, and to attribute a magical explanation to mundane phenomena is either wishful thinking or simplemindedness.
I'm really boggled that anyone answered the top answer. That's basically saying "I don't believe humans ever made up legends or stories until shortly after the Renaissance."

I said in the other thread that I believe all of the ancient myths were actually based on something, and I don't mean the standard "Werewolves were really just insane humans with a disease that made them go axe-crazy". I also do believe that they are still out there somewhere: as much of the world that humanity has taken over, there are still a lot of hidden locations where something can be hiding.
Post by
Skreeran
So you don't believe any ancient people made up stories to pass the time, like we still do today?
Post by
Levarus
Humans have discovered all of the land. The Ocean would be the perfect place for the unknown to hide, considering we've only explored like a tenth of it and it covers 70% of the world. But I do agree with you that ancient myths are based on something, like the Sphynx from Egyptian lore, perhaps outworldy creatures played God in the early times of humanity? Or Atlantis was once an alien base completely hidden from humanity, serving as like an observation post to what aliens saw, an unknown species.

Possible, but it's just as that their myths are actually based on something they saw/experienced.
