Hate to be this guy, but;
There are many mice out there with many available mouse keys. Anywhere from 1-2 extra to a dozen. Combine that with a free addon called "Clique", and you're golden, with a much less volatile-looking product. My plain mouse has 5 extra buttons (great for mapping heals to) and it's been working golden for many years now.

That thing, to me, looks only marginally useful.
The term "mouse" is also wrong for it. You can't move the actual cursor with it, it's basically a glorified joystick with a few keys on the side, nothing more. In all videos I've seen it's used in conjunction with a real mouse.
Take any controller with analog sticks, rig it to commands for use in design programs, and it's the same thing, only much less expensive.
I relish the direct movement my mouse offers, it allows for twitch reactions/gaming, something a clunky joystick will never provide.
In conclusion, I wouldn't waste my money on a "trendy" item that is expensive and offers nothing new or useful.

I don't think price has anything to do with this topic, considering its main purpose is for work.
I have a mouse with 5 buttons and mainly use the extra ones for healing or AoE spells

If it eliminates the keyboard, I think it owuld be useful in the fact you have easier access to the buttons with less movement.
Personally I would then set it up for spells, targeting, and mouse over spells. Instead of using the 1 - = keys.

Combine it with the Razer Naga and it might actually work out pretty well.

It
is
supposed to be used in conjunction with a mouse. The whole point is to avoid having to use the keyboard while in whatever 3D design application you're using. For 3D modeling, a device like this makes it much easier to move, rotate, and zoom in one fluid motion, as opposed to having to click the scroll wheel to rotate, scroll to zoom, then ctrl+click scroll wheel to pan.
So, how is
expensive joystick + mouse
superior to
keyboard + mouse
? Much easier to uh... move, rotate and zoom? Pardon me but being able to perform those is the
absolute basic
you need to know to be able to work in a 3D modelling software efficiently, and it is also fairly simple to perform these. Does this device help when modelling details? Does it help with rigging? Does it help with UV mapping? Rendering? Seriously, how many professional 3D modellers do you know that did not get used to basic navigating in their preferred software (and no, changing the center point of rotation is not bloody advanced navigating, I have seen that silly "3d mouse in 3DS Max" video)? Because I have known and been in a class consisting of 25 kids that got to 3DS Max when they were 15 years old, and soaring through 3D space has not been a problem for anyone, after the initial lectures.
