Maybe the Fashion Police could be the next Hero/Elite class..?
I can't really argue my corner much as to hang onto gear simply because it looks good isn't a very effecient way to go about things. It might also get other players shouting at you for under-performance...
Another thought did pop into my head whilst I was writing (It's a slow day at work!) and that is - on reflection is lvl 55 the right place to start the Death Knight class..? We get all the lore about the Death Knights, the Lich King and Northrend but rather than get straight on with assaulting Icecrown we spend time wandering around Outlands before we set off (albeit that might only be 24 hours or so)...
That's about it I'm afraid...
WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA!
HOLD YA HORSES MISSY!
dks already start at a high LvL we dont need it any higher, unless u wana make dks get X10 the amount xp needed to progress thur 70-80 and they would start at 70 but other wise hell no...

Other than heirlooms, my DK didn't get any new gear till Northrend. And that was just to get the crafted tanking set. TBC content is faceroll enough with looms that you don't need to bother going hunting for pieces of gear. So don't sweat, it's no big deal.

Just a thought - maybe DK armour should've been made to scale up like heirloom items (say to lvl80) and that way we'd remain looking like DKs for longer..? I'm happy to replace weapons, rings, trinkets and neck items but keep the armour for a bit longer..?
Then I'd like to have a specialty set made for all classes that increases in stats as you level because that purple vest and green short shorts I had on my very first warlock was quite the mood killer.
My dk replaced his gear very fast in outlands. The last thing to go were my bracers that were replaced in northrend. Everything else had a definite upgrade both for my tanking set and dps set.

I have made many dk's since the launch of Wrath and I always save the starter gear in an bag in the bank, but as always with gear if you want to perform as good as possible you should exhange your gear for all upgrades that comes your way.

Me being unlucky with drops on my DK alt haven't replaced much of the armor and he's lvl 71 right now though I'm mainly lvling through the dungeon finder. At least I've got my heirlooms to keep me in shape.

It's going to be a zone or two in outlands before you replace it.
I'd just tank through to level 62 and hit Zangamarsh.

Hmmm are you sure about that?
Greatsword of the Ebon Blade
vs
Rage Reaver
I'd take the str any day on that one.
Sky Darkener's Shroud of Blood
vs
Watcher's Cloak of Vigilance
That second cloak is from Zangamarsh too!
Point here is you aren't going to be replacing your blues as soon as you leave the starter area and do a bit of Blasted Lands. Just use your head when checking for upgrades :)

So, looks like 4.3 answers your question. With transmorgificationsasrea (or whatever that new ability is called) you can make new gear resemble old gear as long as you still have the old gear.
So now you can raid in your starter area Death Knight gear. :)

The first comparison you made was vs an AGI 2h, which just makes you look like an idiot for bringing it up. That's like saying, "I'm a DK, so I want STR not INT." It didn't need to be said.
The second one you did it again because the green is actually better, lol.
1. That first cloak is one of the first two handers that you get in OL that a melee might use. For example if your warrior or your paladin has a 2h with STR from say Blasted Lands, that's probably going to be better. However, it isn't in the case of the DK.
2. I don't agree. You don't really need the hit or the Stam, you have plenty. I'll take the extra strength for harder hitting attacks, won't you?
which just makes you look like an idiot
So let's put it this way, ok?
Drop the slots immediately for BC gear Clearly isn't the case.
so anything AT BC is betterClearly isn't the case.
You'll finish at like 58 so go straight to Hellfire and start dropping the slots. Clearly, isn't the case.
It's not cool, big or clever to attack the person and not the argument.

Most BC gear is very poorly itemised these days. I mean really, dungeons drop resiliance gear. Need I say more?

I think we may need to add something here tht says; don't sell your gear.
Stick it in the bank, and you can transmogrify to it if you see fit at a later date :)

Blizz have said they are most likely going to include the DK starting gear as purchaseable from a vendor when that feature comes out, since so much love has been shown for it.

If only you didn't come with that two years too late. Oh well, T10 was bloody cool anyway.
