Let's say I make $6,000 dollars a month, my bills are around $4,500 a month. Should I take out 10% from the 6000 which is $600 dollars to give to the church? Or should I take out $150 dollars? After I pay all of my debts, I have $1,500 of profit at the end.
Should I be tithing per paycheck? or tithing after you pay all ur bills?
I never bought into the tithing except the fact that when you do tithe, good stuff seems to happen. I'm a selfish brat.

I've actually met Shirley at a picket. I was stupid enough to walk up to her and the people standing next to her and tell her that I was at a point in my life where I was really questioning my sexuality and ask her if she could give practical advice minus all of the shouting. I walked away less than a minute later crying like a baby. There was no attempt to help me, no attempt to comfort me, just instantaneous, full-force condemnation. That was my first and my biggest real experience with anti-gay hostility.
aw I'm tearing up again =/ it was really traumatic.

She's not worth messing with. She's a hypocrite anyways.

$600. It's based on your income, not profit.

Can show you me the doctrine that states that it is mandatory to pay 10% of your income? What book is it from? Send me the link.

Doctrine and Covenants, section 64 verses 24-26 or 27, if I remember correctly.

That's what it's called? Doctrine and Covenants?

Yes.
Ah, I was wrong. It was 23-25.
And forgive me, that's not the one I'm looking for. Let me nose around and see if I can find the 10% one, as I forgot which one it was.

I can answer that question. I'm a sucker for researching different religions =P

Ah, thanks for that. I didn't study the second half nearly as much as I studied the first half.

If he's a televangelist, I probably won't like him.

I'll take a look.

From a quick search: For a televangelist, he doesn't sound too bad, although I don't really know enough yet to pass judgment (not that I
should
pass judgment).

They're a cult; they are not Christians. Funden is right, they make the rest of us look bad.*coughnotatruescotsmancoughcough*
:P
But I'm just being contrary. I can't stand WBC. I really wish I could just go burn down their church and show them how painful it is to be hated.
But I won't. The thing is, I don't want to answer their hate with hate. The world is hateful and violent enough already, and I don't need to spend my time and energy hating them.
I'm not sure where I stand on the legality of it. On the one hand, I believe in free speech, and I don't think anyone's opinion should be suppressed by the government. On the other hand, hate speech is an awful thing, and if you are causing another person suffering (by, say, yelling at them during their child's funeral), then you should be stopped.
