So last night in regular Halls of Stone the tank decides to skip the two optional bosses for a faster run. I need the xp, but as a healer finishing and requeing is fast enough. A feral druid starts complaining all the way to the 5 minute hate and just dances durring the encounter to show his anger. The leather dps pants drop and he waits till we are on the way to final boss and finally rolls need. When we finally run all the way to the final boss the tank says he needs 30 seconds to go afk. The druid goes bear and charges in saying "Heal me nub".
The other 2 dps and I just watch him die. The tank comes back, I pop hero and we kill the boss in about 47 seconds. The whole time the druid is going on and on about how much I suck as a healer. The tank (a pally) leaves group. The mage and rogue and I are left. I leave too.
So am I being a total jerk, a partial jerk, or teaching someone a lesson?

In that situation it's best to let him die. The group loses nothing by watching him get pummeled, and you're risking a wipe (and therefore repair bill) for everyone if you try to heal him.
But I was worried this was going to be one of those 'the DPS stood in a fire I could very easily heal him through because we are both super over geared in order to maximize his DPS so of course I LET HIM DIE
to be petty, self-righteous, and passive aggressive
to teach him a lesson about responsibility.

The way I see it is; if the tank wants a fast run let it be, unless you need an item from a boss you are skipping then I would ask to do that boss. With the new "rewards" for the week being able to obtained all in one day, I can see how many people want quick runs to get that bonus xp and start another one.
And yes, the druid was an @$$.

I had a case like this yesterday. Ran a heroic grim batol. I'm pally tank, guildie was healer, and we had 3 pug dps (mage, a warrior, and...i forget). I don't know if this warrior was use to tankin or what, but, throught almost the entire instance he kept just nuking everything and not even letting me build aggro. He even pulled the Boss with the Dragon before i was able to finish using inquisition and avenging wrath.
After the boss fight, I told him to wait a sec to let me build aggro when i pulled. He said he would in some smart @** way. We get to the 2 groups on the stairs right before Erudax (the ones u can't hurt with the dragons). I start my pull rotation again and what does the warrior do? Just jumps right on in and starts trying to dps everything. I just stood there pissed off. The my guildie didn't budge. And apparently the other 2 dps were actuallly following me so the warrior dies.
I tank the first group and they all die. Healer rez's the warrior. And he doesn't say a thing. I asked him if he wanted to let me pull the groups before he decided to start going psycho on them. He said yeah again. Got to the last group, AND HE DOES THE EXACT SAME THING, WITH THE SAME RESULTS.
We go on to kill that group, the faceless gaurdians, and Erudax. We both roll need on the choas orb and I won it (thank god). Then he proceeds to complain callin us noobs and whatnot and rages out of the group. I figured he might be one of those warriors that pull good dps and might have just been use to quicker runs or something so i check recount. 10.2k dps.......
If someone is being arrogant in a group, let their stupidity be the death of them. Noone should reward ignorance.

@ Xavier
Use this on melee dps that don't know there place as a Pally Tank.
Blessing of Protection
It should allow you to get a good threat lead. Also from want I have seen the Warrior sounds like a fury warrior. As from want I have seen this is generally want the do on pulls. (That the whole I'm pulling thing but the large amounts of threat that they can pull.)
As for the Op the driud got there WoW Justice. And I would have done the same thing.

Skipping bosses while leveling is stupid. The only reason you are queuing and running these dungeons is for the experience. Killing extra trash packs and bosses is WAY more Experience / Minute than finishing the instance a little earlier and getting the bonus completion XP.

Not if you are queueing as tank :p
The only reason I'd bother skipping bosses while leveling is if I know the bosses do not drop anything I need and I would like loot from the random loot bag at the end.

I usually let dps die (usually DKs) that keep atacking secondary targets and getting agro, rather than primary ones when I'm tanking.

I never let anyone die. I don't shed many tears for people who pull aggro on the wrong targets faster than I can spam taunts, or for people who pull and expect me to AoE tank without rage, but I'd prefer to do my job to the best of my ability rather than purposefully not do my job and be self-righteous about how other people should do theirs.

I only do that because some people only learn the hard way.
Stole my aggro once, np, taunt.
Stole it twice, allriiiiiight taunt again, but please watch out.
Stole it the third time, good luck tanking that &*!@.

Sometimes it's not even stealing aggro though, esp. if there are no marks.
It's a different situation, of course, but If I DPS some mob (assisting the tank) and the tank switches to another mob because he's losing aggro on that one for some reason, should I switch as well, or should I lower the incoming damage by finishing this one off?
Some tanks keep switching and switching and switching. Most of the times this doesn't bother me, but when they start complaining about aggro I just tell them to stay on target instead of creating the problem themselves :)
