Guys, I need advice: Enforcer or Ambassador?
Ambassador is good for ambushes on snipers with razorback, but other than that it is complicated in use, Enforcer is good for direct combat, but it makes escape harder, besides if you are involved in direct combat as Spy it is a failure.
I know I'm gonna sound like an elitist ass but use the default if you don't like the Ambassador and forget about the Enforcer. While it's true that the Ambassador is situational if you have trouble aiming, I prefer it. Pass on it if you don't feel comfortable using it.
As for the Enforcer, while it does a lot of damage, most people don't realize that the default revolver does more than enough damage to kill on it's own. Heck, I even manage to do enough damage with the Ambassador to kill on it's own as well. You'll have good damage with your default weapon but you won't have the downside of the Enforcer.
When it comes to the Spy watches, play around with them but I'm gonna sound like an elitist ass and say default again
BUT
: Continue to use the CnD until you're comfortable as Spy. I say this because once you get a feel of how the CnD works actually limits you, you'll take advantage of the default watch.
To get a feel for how limiting the CnD is, try and see how far you can run while cloaked. After you get a good idea, try the same with the default. One thing you might or might not know about the default watch is that picking up ammo crates or metal off fallen players
replenishes
your cloak meter. Keep that in mind as you test it out. CnD
cannot
be replenished by metal, though.
As for the DR, you'll probably use it more to be a "Second-chance Spy" in the beginning until you figure out how to actually fool your enemies into thinking you're dead if you don't know how to already.
Most experienced players aren't easily fooled into thinking you've died from a shot that only did 10 damage. And believe me, they (and I) can count the damage we've done to spies or anybody. If it doesn't add up, I know you're alive. I'll use this
screenshot
as an example of how we know. If you look at the number above my health, it shows the damage my last shot did.
It's probably not the best example because you
CAN
DR a backstab or a headshot but you get the idea. Even though I don't think you should be able to DR those. >.>

I love the DR so much. Disguise as your own teammate (preferably a close range class) charge enemy base, die, disguise as enemy while cloaked, appear from behind and STAB THEM ALL.

Indeed. I would have said something about it but I felt my post was long-winded enough already. :|

Thanks, now I feel like a noob.
Heh. We're all new to the game at one point or another but there's no need to call yourself a noob. You already have more than a decent idea of how to play the game and Spy.
But, for you, CnD is worse in terms of running somewhere. While it is true, my play style is more of camper. Especially payload on defense. For example, Badwater, right before first checkpoint. Usually, there are 4-6 people pushing that cart. I hide under stairs, dress up as one of them, and jump from behind. With that method, I kill half, all if they are dumber than cabbage. But this slows them down enough to allow us to regroup and start counterattack. The same goes for sniping spots or engineers nests.
Right! The CnD is good for camping a spot and terrible for running away. But what usually happens if you mess up a stab and they notice? In most cases, you have to cloak to get away but with the CnD your cloak won't get you far unless you were absolutely still before you tried to kill him. You'll still be in his general area and he will be actively seeking you out. But again, it's all whatever your playstyle is. The watch you use is entirely up to you. Heck, I even use CnD or DR with the Saharan Spy set sometimes! :D
And to be honest, it's good to change up your watches mid-game so your opponents don't predict what you'll do. If you use the DR and switch to another, they might still be under the impression that you're still alive and waste time trying to find something that isn't there.
I can't tell you how many times I've heard the team shout "Lan's deadringing, watch out for him! He's still out there!"
>mfw
btw
Also, I don't know with whom you play, but engineers I play against check everyone for spies, by two shotgun blasts, so you have to come from the back and DR fails here because of the uncloaking sound. I, myself, caught dozen of Spies, because of that sound.
And here's something you don't really notice as Spy that is extremely useful to know and utilize... (Or at least, someone had to point it out to me)
Disguising as a Spy gives you a couple of benefits aside from the obvious one:
1. When hit with bullets or projectiles, your disguised Spy does NOT show any outwards signs of being damaged at all.
B. Projectiles such as stickies or rockets do
NOT
cause your disguised Spy to be knocked around if hit.
How it can be used to your advantage: Engies like to spy check when they're not busy. But instead of running up to them when uncloaked, you can run past them while they Spy check you. They usually give about 3 shots then move on. If you can survive the spy check without panicking, they will completely let their guard down for you. (Hopefully) You can take advantage of that. It will definitely be rage inducing when you kill them.
Oh and don't pick up health when disguised, the health icon pops up as your actual team color when you do.
Edit: fffffffffffffffff I wrote another long-winded post!

My favorite class is spy because I like going behind enemy lines.
My least favorite class is Pyro, because they're annoying to spies.
My favorite map is Goldrush.

I love pyros. If played right, with the Backburner, you can become more dangerous attacking from behind enemy lines than I spy. There's been times where I charge a group of 8 people from behind with the Backburner and kill them all in about three seconds.
Same with a heavy and the Tomislav. Find a good ambush spot, jump out behind people and OPEN FIRE.

P.S what's up with 1 and B? Is this visual representation of switch the watches idea?
Nope. Just did it to mess with peoples. :3

Plenty of people use Jarate! The problem is that the kind of people who use Jarate tend to be good at calling out Spies, then killing them, so they make your life difficult.
Speaking of Jarate, see what Funden said about Backburner Pyro? That's not half as hilarious as Jarateing a Payload cart, jumping down behind it, and Bushwackaing their team to death. Melee Sniper is where it's at.

That's the point of the achievement. :P
They have such good names for achievements. "Peer Review" is probably the funniest thing about this game.

It isn't just the puns though. Peer Review is such a sterile, stuffy, and academic thing, but the name is being used for an achievement where men violently hack each other to death with surgical implements. It's the disconnect that's funny, moreso than the puns.
