Okay so It is possible that Caylee died by accident (ie drowing in the pool) - But who is being accountable for throwing the child's corpse on the side of the road like a piece of trash?
Whether it was Casey or her father who did the deed - somebody was to be punished for doing that!
Oh, they are. She gets to spend a whole other week in jail for that.

Thats the most she can serve on the convictions against her though, after already spending about 3 years in jail they cant just keep her in there for nothing now.

The media usually goes crazy for the ones that start as a missing person's case then goes to a murder trial. I'm not saying that race isn't a factor but I don't think that's the only reason this one got so much media focus.

Do I think Casey Anthony murdered her child? I can't say for certain. And that's the problem. The media pundits who were pursuing this were largely running on circumstantial evidence to nail her in the court of public opinion, and a number of them do have law degrees. That influence and the demand for "justice" basically pushed the prosecution to go for first degree murder that they had at best a marginal chance of winning on. Had the prosecution went for criminally negligent homicide, a charge that they had ample evidence for, Casey would have been found guilty and be in prison.
And now those pundits who were looking for Casey's head on a platter now think that the prosecutors were idiots and they would have got the conviction. I personally doubt this.

The most that those
outside
of the courtroom can do is speculate. But when speculating, do take into account of media hype/bias and the fact that a trial is less about truth and more about
evidence
. The prosecution may have abundant evidence to prove first degree murder, but the defence may have won in objecting to their admissibility.

I've linked this elsewhere, but since its relevant to his topic too:
this
song really covers just how absurd the legal system (everywhere in the world aparently) really is.

So she's appealing for lying to authorities now
Also, this whole damn case makes me wonder if Phoenix Wright was the defense attorney.

Whether she did it or not, I feel sorry for her. When the media take a story like this a blows it up, the public all of a sudden deems themselves to be knowledgeable enough to determine her innocence or guilt on their own, and so even though she has been acquitted, many many people are going to continue treating her a guilty.

Not just her the whole family, I have to agree. Her child is dead, she's spent a long time in jail now, and she'll have a target on her back for the rest of her life. It's sad :/

She'd best be careful nobody tries to kill her.
