Wow guys I really didn't think this post would get so many responds
Since my comment will be buried in the back I might as well open up a new post
thank you all, again
so this is for all of you who wondered how I spent my tp
and my apologies I dunno how to post talent links
So when I was a beginner in resto, I chose
2x
2x
cuz I thought refreshing LB is cool, I keep LB on tank and I don't waste mana casting it over and over again
and I chose 3x
over
cuz I usually do 5 man and having all other 4 players meele is just rare. It is good for raid though when everyone needs to stack together.
I thought, maybe it's a good thing to let LB expire everytime and get that extra healing
So I re-did my talent tree just to see if this is better
So the 2 points from
went to
and
, which I did not fully upgrade in previous tree
and the other 2 points I'm still unsure between
and
, since I do cast
pretty often when all h.o.t are used on the player and still needs extra healing, and since my haste is not capped, and, yeah, I choose 2x
for now
and I still stick with
over
Current talent tree build
http://www.wowhead.com/talent#0hbhZMZrfzIdcMzouoThere are ups and downs whether u choose
or not, like a lot of you said, recast LB 3 times is a lot of time wasted in a tense situation. Being a good healer should always make the most use of his mana and time, and different ppl has diff ways doing so, and I'm not here to argue which way is the best
Here's my understanding.
There are three ways to keep LB refreshed: cast
Regrowth or
if you have
, or by simply recast LB.
Mana-cost-wise: 3xLB<<
<
RegrowthCast-time-wise: 3xLB>
>>
Regrowth (
assumed)
For
users, the down sides are extra mana cost + healing when LB expires + 2 talent points, but you get bit reduced cast time relatively, and I think, you get more divided attention from the tank to heal others since you always keep LB refreshed on tank, which I believe it's a good thing for beginners; and if you may argue, it benefits when you want LB on more than one in tree of life form, and during that time
Regrowth is instant cast.
For non
users, the ups and downs are vice versa, but even thou we are spending less mana and healing more relatively, I think this is preferred to use when you become more skilled in resto. Since the expired LB healing is wanted, we need to keep in mind when it will expire, so we can recast 3xLB asap to keep the h.o.t going, since 3xLB is the most cost-effective spell for resto droods (why else we can only cast this on one player). If we want to keep LB refreshed, we just recast b4 expiry.
wudya guys think?

you know what, this is stupid
I just read the 4.2 PTR patch notes
Blizz changed resto mastery, instead of increased healing potency when 2 h.o.ts are on one target, mastery now increases direct healing potency and adds h.o.t after u cast direct healing, kinda like the mastery of Holy Priests
this is outrageous
resto droods r fun because of our instant cast h.o.ts
I don't feel like talking any more......
What? No.
Mastery: HarmonyYour direct heals statically heal for more. Casting a direct heal increases the potency of your hots. This is a much better implementation than the previous incarnation of our Mastery.
