Hmm, should I go back and watch
all
the Doctor Who episodes?
And by watch, I mean start and never actually finish it. :P
There are three levels of Who fans.
Those who watch the new series.
Those who watch the old series and the new series.
Those who "watch" reconstructed episodes of the ones that are missing.
If you do go back and watch the old ones, just know that a lot of episodes are missing, and only a few have been reconstructed to any degree.
Damn, where'd they go? D:
Since there was no digital media in the 70s and earlier, keeping copies of everything took a lot of space, so they often threw out old shows.

Yeah, that makes a lot of unfortunate sense.

Let's not forget that the Doctor has tampered with 'fixed points' before. I think that the Doctor that died will end up being the Flesh Doctor. Moffat and the writers wrote the last season intricately together, why not this one?
Edit: Who else wants Omega to be behind things? I certainly do. And I certainly think he will be.

I forgot about the Gangers...except the Ganger Doctor dissolved himself.
I also forgot about how much I love the cold open for A Good Man Goes to War.

Also, as I've seen a lot of speculation about it and it's driving me nuts with all the people coming up with outlandish ideas, clearly The Doctor's room had the TARDIS in it, as you can tell from the
Cloister Bell
sound coming from it.
That, and the fact that the rooms are based on what one has faith in. What else would the good Doctor have faith in besides the last vestige of his people he can trust.

The rooms held your fear. Your faith is what you turned to after witnessing your fear in there.

D'oh. You're right. Allow me to rephrase:
What else would the Doctor fear more than losing the last friendly bit of his people?

Actually, someone IRL said they that perhaps the Doctor's fear was being alone. This makes a lot of sense for a number of reasons. The Doctor absolutely hates being alone. I agree that the TARDIS is what the Doctor has faith in. And so I would suggest the what his room held was simply, an empty TARDIS. How would this take faith from the TARDIS you might ask? It could be suggested that the Doctor running off in the TARDIS to explore all of space and time was ultimately what was responsible for his being alone. Or at the very least, the notion itself would probably effect him. If he hadn't run off in the silly blue box would he ever have had to end the Time War? Would the Time War ever have begun?
I didn't like this last episode. I guess they figured it had to be done in such a way, though. Amy's faith was so easily shaken that it makes me wonder; was her faith that weak? Or what is so strong that she believed everything the Doctor told her no matter how hurtful? Nevertheless I'd have expected Amy of all people to argue about it.

The cloister bell is a sound effect they overdub for dramatic effect, I don't think it was coming from the room.
Was it?

Just watched "The Girl Who Waited" and it was absolutely sad near the end,
where the older Amy is shut out of the TARDIS and is screaming at the Doctor to let her in, then she has a heartbreaking conversation with Rory and tears are flowing out of his eyes then the TARDIS leaves and the older Amy allows herself to be death-vaccinated.
Can't wait for the next one, saw the Weeping Angels and a few other nightmare-related horrors. My blood will be pumping.
