The quest Battle for the Undercity... Sad that the quest was removed. When I have done the quest for the first time, I was a undead warlock, and with that cinematic I was really like "omg... what have i done?"
Being a level 8 mage trying to get into stormwind when kazzak was destroying it, definitely a long lasting memory.
My favorite memory of WoW is, if this is fair, all of pre-BC. Being so new to the game, it took many months of sluggish grinding to hit 60 for the first time, but when I finally hit 60, it all became totally worth it. Working at each dungeon & tier set, one set at a time. All the wipes, all the wins, and all the world-pvp. Pre-BC truly was the best WoW.

I remember it well. On the RP server, Argent Dawn US, one fateful night back in Burning Crusade, I heard in trade chat that a Horde raid had been planned at 7 server time. Not just any raid, but the biggest organized raid ever. I headed towards the city gates of Stormwind, only to find a huge defense force amassed, around thirty people or so. Naturally, I joined them. We were lined up at the very front gates; and it wasn't long before more people heard about the raid. Within ten minutes, the defense force had grown to over a hundred people-- the Valley of Heroes was packed, all the way from the front gates to the entrance of trade district, the statues of the Alliance's noblest warriors looking down on us, almost as if ready to face the encroaching horde with us. I felt so much pride, that day, standing mounted and ready for battle; my little warlock, side my side with the server's most gallant paladins. We waited until the moment came. I could barely turn my screen, there were so many heroes causing latency and lag. Then we saw the red names. The Horde were upon us! Wait, I thought. Is that a level one? Charging to their death, the battalion of low-level horde characters barely made it three cobblestones into the city before... The server crashed. I cheered at my computer screen. We had won by default! It wasn't until the server came back up that I found out the "raid" we'd prepared for was actually a level 1 memorial march into Stormwind for a Horde player who'd passed away... And though I felt a little bad for helping throw it flat on its face, I'm sure the guy's resting well knowing that his friends and his server had contributed to truly the most epic event I've ever witnessed in all my years of World of Warcraft.I wish I still had all of the screenshots I took that night, but unfortunately they were lost when I had to replace my hard-drive. I only have one left, though it doesn't quite do the experience justice.Glory to the Alliance!-Kamaris
Favorite memory was getting my first epic! Nightslayer Shoulder Pads from Sulfuron in MC. Evey rogue already had it so it was defaulted to me, but I was still floored to get it!
My facorite WoW memory is back in vanilla. Everything about it. Huge mounts, PUGs, no ppl complaining about how great Rift is and how bad Warcraft is. 8 races, 5 raids, that was the life. Now... it's all gone to hell... or Deepholm, rather. :3
A cute blond Blood Elf warlock named Jaane, from the Saufang realm, told me this story over a mug of Cherry Grog at the Legerdemain Lounge. I'm not quite sure how she managed to get Cherry Grog in Dalaran, but I won't turn down a girlie drink if the right girl offers. She tells me this."I was up early one Sunday morning helping Olut Alegut manage a few challenges surrounding the sad little zeppelin he's saddled with. I had occasion to fly near Brunnhildar Village while running a chore for that hapless orc, when out of the corner of my eye I saw an odd-looking drake on the wing. Okay, it was actually a proto-drake, and those devilish beasts are all very odd-looking, but this one was odder still. I knew the creature had to be special, but for the life of me I had no idea why. "I thought, well, at least I'd get an atta-girl out of it, and maybe even a grey, slimy reptile spleen or some such thing that craftspeople and sales staff seem to like to eat, so I decided to try to take it down. I spurred my windrider to feint at the proto-drake, acquired his attention, then headed to ground. I observed that the direction I'd picked was taking me squarely into the middle of the Hyldnirs' settlement. Having no desire to endure a set of those snowy amazons while simultaneously dispatching that great and terrible lizard, I made a quick adjustment and lured the prehistoric creature to the roof of a tunnel entrance. "The quick pace of these events, and the edge of concern over perhaps having made myself plain to one of the mighty virgins, found me momentarily unprepared for battle. I took more injury than I think I would have normally, but the battle ended quite quickly with the able help of my wretched imp, and I set to inspecting the carcass."And lo, there was a beauteous and epic object set among the seared flesh and guts! And with its knowledge I was soon able to command a living replica of the beast I had just killed! "I called out to other adventurers in the Storm Peaks to inquire about my new acquisition, but there were none. I did mention it was early on a Sunday, yes? No doubt all of Stormwind and Ironforge were on their knees in front of their precious Light, chanting their hopeful niceties, while the Horde of Thrall were still snoring loudly among their malodorous bedsheets, and my dusky cousins were off French-kissing a shrubbery. I was a Blood Elf left to my own resources."Luckily I never suit up without a copy of The Red Rocket Guide to Swinging Wide in Azeroth and the Outlands, by the gnomish chronicler Wow Headotcom, at my fingertips. On page 44,168 I found a tiny entry, but with a vast amount of commentary, concerning an extremely hard-to-find item called..."She paused dramatically."...the Reins of the Time-Lost Proto-Drake. This thing that I had was apparently one of the few truly rare things in the world! People hunt for it for weeks and months on end; it is a source of true futility! And I happened dumb and blind upon it! Players gotta play baby, and haters gotta hate!"She slammed the table with her palm, then concluded by egging me on to pay her compliments over her cunning and luck (and, of course, her beauty.... I did mention she was a Blood Elf, yes?). And of course I was given no choice but to buy her next round. I don't mind though. I'm hanging out with a chick who's got the coolest ride in the game.
I think one of the best - because I have too many to pick one absolute fave - would be the day my first toon reached 80 - she was pre-Cata. I was so excited to finally have one fully leveled toon, I actually squeed. ~grin~
The first time i started playing WoW during TBC and created my blood elf paladin. Everything was all so new to me, and i had no clue how everything worked. Luckily, i had a couple of RL friends who played since wow classic and had a large guild running, and they invited me in and i got tons of help from all the vet players with the whats and hows. Best days in my days of WoW.
My favorite memory from World of Warcraft was when I hit level 85 before my own dad and he's been playing for about 1-2 more years than me !
So many fond memories.. I always played single player games till I found WOW.Grinding PVP to get a mount because I didn't have any gold, hitting 60 on my first toon, doing all the quests for the druid forms. But probably the most satisfying moment was when I completed the AQ scepter quest chain(even if I didn't get the mount} . I still enjoy the simple parts of the game too, fishing, cooking, crafting. My wife and I used to play together. She is gone now,and I get all choked up when I look at her cute little gnome mage, can't bring myself to delete it.
My favorite memory is not nescesarily a memory but more an experience.4 years ago when I first entered Molten Core with 39 other people from my guild, we were all logged into ventrillo and it was the first time I heard people talk to each other as if they were friends, altough they'd never even met before.I had a sensation of...comittment towards my other raid members to go forth, clear this raid. Every night we would clear one boss in Molten Core and the sensation of progressing in something had never before any stronger than that week. For the first time in my whole World of Warcraft experience I'd got a feeling like I belonged somewhere, because those 39 other people on ventrillo would just talk to you and make comments, jokes, laugh with you, listen to everyone. And to make my night almost perfect, I got my first level 60 epic drop ever, the Arcanist's Shoulders. (Wich the guild's main mage would so reluctantly give to me, although he won the roll, because I needed it more than he did)Those are some of the finest raiding experiences World of Warcraft could offer me and I'm always looking out to bring back that wonderful memory.
My favorite memory in wow was when I obtained the Insane title during raid using a minor Darkmoon deck for the last of the rep. Right in the middle of raid, I learned my 100th mount first, then got the Insane achievement right afterward with the spawned fortune teller. It was pretty awesome.
One of my fondest memories was not long after I started up some time 2005 on my warrior, I was about lvl15-20? one of my guildies at the time (female dwarf paladin (already at lvl60)) took me through deadmines for the first time so I could do some quests in there, I still remember standing in awe as she cut through the entire instance like a hot knife through butter. She's still going strong and last time I heard she was still guild master of a hardcore rp guild on scarlet crusade.
