Well, I think I'm going to give this whole RP thing the old college try. Had this idea knocking around for a while so I thought what the hell, with the Caedas Arena apparently dead I may as well.
Incoming characters will start on Charon and the ship will arrive once we have a few people posting.
Any questions, comments and the like should be posted here.

Dante's Inferno RP? Interesting.
I might throw Rashahkk in later.

Sounds a lot like Purgatory from Mass Effect 2, I'm half expecting Commander Shepard to show up and free Jack from the tenth floor :P I see this going far, we can do a lot with a prison.

Thoughtful, but definately tricky, half reminds me of an RP Morec did a long time ago.
I've gotta think of a character that will do right here...
Sever? Yeah, seems vaugly like that but the concept is different enough to make it all the more interesting.
As for joining this RP, I may. It looks very clever and given the fact that I've been playing Dante's Inferno alot lately it should be a lot of fun.

I don't know what Dante's Inferno is. :P Looks like an interesting concept, but I'm already in two RPs, any more and I'll be overstretching my resources I'm afraid - resources being memory.

It
was the first third of Dante Alighieri's epic poem,
Divine Comedy
, written in Italy in the 14th century. It's largely responsible for the concept of the 9 layers of Hell.
It was also a
2010 God of War clone
with little to absolutely nothing to do with the original poem.

Movie based on the game based on the poem

Hey! The basic concepts of the poem still exists - the circles and whatnot - but yes, some has changed. You have to admit, though; just walking through the circles of hell with just a few puzzles here and there (which is all the game could offer if it held directly to the poem) would have been boring. If I'm not mistaken, however, the dialouge between Dante and Virgil that you can get is from the poem itself.
It's an awsome game, and
not
a God of War clone. It adds enough variety to it to make it different while keeping a similar playstyle (which I will admit to) to God of War. But let's be honest; how many ways
can
you make a beat-em-up style game thats
good
?

There are only large group cells on each level aside from the ninth, people being frozen instead in the ice.

More or less, though for a few you will have to kill more then 1 to warrant it, and also in Akedia as Acedia doesn't want to bother with the paperwork unless he 'really' has to.

A magic dampening collar is fitted to everyone but you can if you manage to take it off. Though, using most magic tends to attract the felhunters.

?I've only played a bit of it at a friend's house, but based on what I saw, I'd have to stand by
Yahtzee's review
.
Perhaps it's just because I'm a history and literature buff, but turning a fantastic and well-written 14th century allegorical epic poem into a stylized beat-'em-up game with t*ts, and turning Dante from an existentialist philosopher-type struggling with suicidal depression into a badass Crusader who beats up Death and takes his scythe before crashing Hell's party and fighting Satan just feels wrong. It's like taking H.G. Wells'
The War of the Worlds
and turning it into Duke Nukem. Or Tom Cruise's movie... >.>
