Marisa gagged a little at the sight of the tounge. No matter how many times she had met Cyrus when Arroval had hired her, she would never get used to that thing. "Hey, I asked if anyone had anything on them," she repeated. "Any tools or something." Vrem remained silent.

At the head of the Charon, standing above the large figure head of a skull etched upon its bow stood a hunched black robed figure. A heavy cowl obscured its features in shadows, as if the sun abhorred having to shine upon its visage. A long wooden pole was gripped in its emaciated hand, yellow skin stretched like parchment over the bones.
Alongside the vessel was a deep cloaking mist, sharp rocks visible through the shroud and thrusting up from the waters like daggers eager to tear into the wooden flesh of the Charon. Here and there fins broke the surface of the sea to travel alongside the vessel. Yet these were no playful dolphins, a fact proven beyond a doubt when several guards tossed a prisoner who had not managed to survive the trip overboard. The corpse hit the water with a splash, dissapearing amongst the waves in a flurry of scarlet foaming water as the denizens of the deeps converged upon it like arrows shot from bows.
The silent figure ignored the display begind it. With a gesture of the pole in its hand the ship changed course, groaning in protest as it drifted into a heavy mist layered alongside it. The suffocating blanket of water and air flowed over the vessel, permeating every nook and cranny with its suffocating blanket as the Charon dissapeared into the fog as if it had never been there.

"Mmm, what a healthy atmothphere," Cyrus drawled blissfully, inhaling deeply, apparently not bothered by fog at all.

A guard on the deck glanced to the floorboards beneath his feet, brow raised curiously as he shuffled slightly in his trenchcoat. "Vocal batch this time around." He mused aloud.
The ferryman said nothing, merely moving the stick in hand side to side with the ship following the movements, avoiding the dangers hidden in the mist effortlessly as only one who had traveled the route a hundred times before could.
