This reminds me of my former battleground-team: me (BM), another hunter (MM), fury warrior, enh/resto shaman, feral/resto druid (shaman & druid took turns healing). Since we as a team were so physical dominated, with most physical buffs present, I tried a specc something like this for a while:
http://www.wowhead.com/talent#cfhfckhdRRofMh (not 100% accurate, cant recall the exact specc, but the important part: I took Improved steady shot from the MM tree. Serpent sting doesnt provide very much damage for BM anyway nor do Cobra shot, you only CS to get focus), and used a ravager as pet for the extra 4% physical dmg.
I have no numbers to back this up but I dont feel I lost any dps from not using SS refreshed with CS, I tend not to use SS very much in pvp anyway (Im pretty much like you, go for low-hp targets and clothies so they tend to die so fast, SS doesnt add to the dps much in them cases imo). The extra 15% from ISS however boosted my focus-regen (well, more SSs then CSs = more focus)
Edit
1: I aint saing the specc is competitve in arena etc (because I dont know if it is, only did friday-nigh-with-the mates-while-boosing-BGs in that specc).
2: Xedosz, its true that MM focuses mostly on physical dmg, but Chimeara shot is nature-dmg (just for the record)

Its not the recomended BM-spec
But, this post got me to respecc into ISS for some testing (ive got better gear now etc) and got some intresting results: same dps as the recomended specc (wich doesnt take ISS) but actually easier to operate.
To dig a bit deeper into this im doing a new post, hopefully I will get some help and you/we can gt an answere.
