I didn't want to continue
this thread
with any more comments about Fable III (because the thread is fundamentally larger than that), but I think it's worth talking about the stuff I and Skreeran mentioned. If you haven't played the game, or are playing it and don't want anything spoiled, be warned that
spoilers will be present
, so read at your own risk.
Clearly the big problem with all the decision-making in the final chapter in the game is the one of priorities. You, as a Hero, have made some promises, and I think it is expected from you to keep them. No good vs. evil thing - you made those promises to people in order to gain their support, keeping the promises is part of bearing the consequences for those deals.
The problem is, it is those choices that eat up your treasury big time. The other decisions you must make are almost all along the lines of "lose 50k so that the people can love you, or gain 800k and be hated." The thing is, many of those decisions can hardly be classified as good or evil - it's all about how strict of a ruler you wish to be. Helping restore the orphanage over turning it into a whorehouse could probably have the moral context around it, but dumping the waste in the marshes vs. building a disposal facility? Not so much... I think for the most part I kept the people happy, hoping to find a way to earn enough to at least mitigate the losses (still ended up with about a million on the negative side though). I am still not sure what would have happened had I decided to go all practical and greedy.

What I did with all the fables was play through as evil as hell.
Then play through again, as good as I could be.
Evil, you end up rich, but everyone hates you.
Good, you end up poorer and everyone loves you. Kinda like life i guess.

Put it away, and await patiently with me for the new Elder Scrolls...
Lol in seriousness though when it comes to games like that what I do is make two save files and play out both sides just to see what happens.

Nah, they hate you. You obliterated the majority of Albion's population by not having enough money to commission an army.

I did this. It makes the game very... empty.
