also.. since corruption is refreshed auto... would i ever have to hardcast it (if its already on when i get lets say a proc?)
AFAIK, refreshing (like a talent) counts as a recast for purposes of changing modifiers.

Considering that UA hits about every 3 seconds (without any haste), recasting it with 1 or 2 seconds is just about the same.

I don't know if I'm right here, but if you clip the Bane of Doom you won't get any damage from it. You want to let BoD run it's course before you reapply.

Not true.
BoD ticks 4 times. If you refresh it between ticks 3 and 4 (45-60 seconds) then you will lose neither damage nor efficiency.

I'm sorry but literally none of that is correct ^_^
With 4.0 Blizzard introduced "refreshing" to basically all DoT mechanics. What refreshing does is it's set the DoT timer back to full without resetting the tick timer. It also adds the time remaining to the next tick onto the max duration.
BoD provides an excellent example because of the long timer and the fact that it doesn't benefit from haste.
if you were to cast BoD and then recast at 50 seconds you would see ticks at:
15 - 30 - 45 - (recast here) - 60 - 75 - 90 - 105 - 120
When I say that you lose no uptime or efficiency, I really mean it.

Still no, sorry.
As I said, the time to the next tick is added to the max duration when you refresh. No matter when you recast BoD (from 45 secs to 59.9 secs) you will still get the 60 second tick and
then
max duration and 4 new ticks.
You spend the GCD slightly earlier but not more often than if you were to let the DoT fall off and reapply (perfectly with no downtime).
Since BoD is so long this is easily tested in game.
