I've got to say that I'm with Rekijan on the Demon Leap question.
In my own play I've found that if you're using Demon Leap it's because you've made a mistake already. Like popping Meta too early or not positioning yourself correctly before popping Meta or, in the case of something like V&T, popping Meta at a point where it can be interrupted by Blackout (wait until after the breath and you have the full Meta duration, relatively unmolested)
In the case of most instances of movement in the game you're not actually required to move for the duration of a full global, in which case using Leap wastes more time than it saves.
Essentially, while there may (I personally don't think so but it could certainly be argued) be encounter-based specifics that make Demonic Leap a useful spell I don't think it represents a "notable" spell in terms of the parameters of this guide.
I totally agree that it looks badass but I don't think people really need to be made aware of it to maximise their output.
(I should say, though, that this is something I'm more than happy to discuss and be proven wrong about. Maybe the damage of Leap itself is better than I'm giving it credit for or maybe the fact that you don't need to Life Tap any more means that there's less useful instants to cast while moving)

You could probably go into quite some depth thinking about squeezing the absolute maximum out of each encounter with Banes, figuring out when it's best to put up Doom for 2 ticks before switching to Agony or when to keep Doom on a certain target while only using Agony and Soul Swap on specific others.
However, personally I keep it simple. I use Agony on any fight that I'll be multi-DoTting often.
I use Doom on any fight with a single main target.
I've added tooltips for acronyms (in the main document, not the glossary) but I've probably missed some so please let me know if you spot any... Or really anything else that would be beneficial to define right there in the text.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##

Wonderfully helpful guild (as always) Asakawa!
I was going to point out some spelling errors/typos (such as Specialisations and maximise) but realized that they were probably just variations since obviously not everyone uses American spellings.
Also, grats on your new role!
P.S. I am lusting after all the new formatting options you now have access too!

Thanks!
Well, the most obvious changes I've made are headings, and tables. The vast majority of the formatting I used is available to regular users.
(not so much any more >.<)
That said, the Wowhead devs are working on a "guide writer" role which will have access to some extra tags to make beautifully formatted guides. If you feel you've got a guide or two in you then I would really encourage you to make them and I'll give any help I can with formatting.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##

Heh, while I may have made the switch to my shadow priest, I still have to keep an eye on what the top warlock has to say.
Also, the green text adds a bit to the Fel-y-ness of this guide, i think.

That's a totally awesome observation!

The Felguard buff is way better than the Felhunter buff but over the course of the fight it really won't make a big difference.
Exactly how good the FG buff is depends on how many procs and buff you can line up. Since lining those buffs up together is relatively easy at the start of the fight I think the best advice may be to start fights with a FG, pop everything (including Felstorm) then burn yourself a FH.
The question is how to express that in a SimCraft actionlist to work out how much of an improvement it is and then how to succinctly express it in a guide like this...
Regarding DoTs, the advice used to be to use Life Tap and make sure you're at max mana but that is rarely an issue for Demo so, yes, Fel Flame. >.<(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##

I was wondering something about affliction. AffSB is superior to AffDrain, and Felhunter is our main pet.
This means our Demon Soul gives 20% shadow dot damage. Which does not affect SB but it does effect Drain Life. So the thing I was wondering, would it be a dps increase to switch to DL as a filler for the duration of Demon Soul?

Let me see if I can make an action list for simcraft that does that and I'll get back to you. My gut says maybe but it'll be very small but that same mechanic makes saving Demon Soul for the Drain Soul phase important. But let's not assume, I'll try to get a proper answer for you.

The advice used to be to try to get that second Immolation Aura into your Metamorphosis but current Sim actionlists use IA only if it can get at least 10 seconds of the buff running which means once per Meta. If there's multiple targets in range then it's almost certainly worth it but my advice is not to worry about it on boss fights.
Regarding Haste and Crit, I've never seen a profile so extreme that Crit comes even close to Haste but if you want to make sure you can Sim your own character to check.
The thing is that Demo doesn't have any great synergy with crits, there aren't any talents that require us to crit to function. However, there are things that proc off DoT ticks or fixed duration buffs that are improved by getting more casts off within the timer that make Haste just get stronger and stronger.
Generally, don't worry about stats like Crit getting low, just follow the stat weights and you'll do well.

OK, so simmed with the added action
actions+=/drain_life,if=buff.demon_soul_felhunter.up
added before Shadow Bolt's action we get a small loss in overall DPS (0.17%) and we see that Drain Life (only used during Demon Soul) has a DPET of 8222 compared to 8610 for SB. This is done using my own character that has more Mastery than the T11 BiS (which shows similar results) so I wouldn't expect to see Mastery play a large role in altering this result.
