Cool, it's just that you'll get a quick response from me in this thread but other knowledgeable forum members might not check this thread so much so you'll get better advice by posting to a regular forum thread.

Yup. Each point of mastery
rating
is effective despite what the character sheet might suggest.

Welcome back to the dark side ^_^

Vampyren's addon guide
is the sticky that directly covers addons and I'm pretty sure that he's kept it updated relatively recently. If important warlocky addons aren't covered in enough detail in that guide or are out of date then we can always ask Vampy to add a bit more on them.

Good points. Thanks.
(Empowered Imp is best used to maintain the buff which is at the top of the priority list. If the buff weren't a factor then it would come after Shadowflame but the buff is always a factor. More could certainly be said for completeness' sake but the info in a guide like this needs to be pared down to make the important info more clear.)

Now it's my favorite too.
E: It's quite minor, but I thought to say about it anyway.
i - A lower case 'i' is generally used for talents that start with "improved"
...
ISB - Improved Shadow Bolt

@Nintiv, Yes, that is silly. I'll fix that now.
EJ shows glyph of UA over BoA. Your guide shows BoA over UA. Just need clarification on this.
The glyph of Unstable Affliction is a ~24dps increase in an over 20,000 dps spec (less than 0.2%).
SimCraft doesn't* Sim fights with adds and multiple bosses so it can't assess GoBoA very well but we all know how many of those fights we use Soul Swap and as such get a lot of use out of BoA.
* it can but these aren't the Sims we see most often
That's what I said earlier in the thread and since then we've heard about the Glyph of Soul Swap's duration increase. I'll look at it again in 4.2 but we'll still be multi-DoTing so for me GoBoA will likely still be a stronger option ("stronger" being very relative - there are no strong options for that third glyph slot)
edit:
also, regarding the minor point from Nintiv, I love it when people let me know about little things like this. It's those daft little mistakes that make me look stupid so the more that get caught the better ^_^

You're not really inviting me to do that again, are you? We know what happened last time. ;)
Well, time to start the nitpicking!
Lots o' nitpicking:
With patch 4.2 it isn't such a prominant option.Little typo, unless it is spelled "prominant" in the UK. I'm honestly not sure.
Hunters can also apply the debuff but it is very rare that they would ever do so,
It's
only included for the sake of completeness.Random capitalization there. Or perhaps the comma being there instead of a period is the typo?
Summon Imp - There
isn't
really any alternative option
s
I think it should be "aren't".
that directly increase damage
. h
owever, the effect of the Glyph of Life Tap and Again, could be a capitalization or punctuation issue (could've been intended to be a semicolon instead).
break this rule to
fulfil
the meta-gem requirementWas about to point this one out, but then I remembered that's the UK spelling. >.<
So
Blue
sockets can accept a blue, green or purple gem;
Red
sockets can accept a red, orange or purple gem; and
yellow
sockets can accept a yellow, orange or green gem.Bit of a capitalization divergence here.
Prismatic Sockets (found on relics, added to belts by anyone and
added bracers
and gloves by Blacksmiths)Just seems to be missing a "to" here.
Leatherworking, Inscription
s
, Blacksmithing Random plural here.
don't try too hard to match socket colours - Unless it's Again, either a capitalization or punctuation error (or maybe not either, I'm not familiar with the use of dashes as punctuation, actually).(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##Kangi##DELIM##

Smashing thanks!
Nope, it's "ent" in the UK too and yes, should've been a full stop not a comma.

Okay, I think I'm done nitpicking. Hope I got most of them!

Thanks for running an eye over it for me.
(plus, showing off with your fancy togglers!
I really hope togglers are included in the guide-writers BBCodes.

Demonic Leap does really great damage from what I've seen so far in my limited time at 85. Lets say a fight is starting, I pop demo, immolation aura, demonsoul and Demonic leap to get up near the boss and start bursting. Have I actually hurt my dps? Should demonic leap even be on me bar?
Even if it did 0 damage I think it would probably still be worth the global cooldown to get from point A to B much quicker...don't quote me on that one, though. It's definitely worth having on your bars...especially for AoE.
Uhm if you have to waste time moving to get from A to B then your doing it wrong. The biggest thing about the meta-cd is to optimize your time spent doing damage in the form. So moving or casting stuff like teleport, leap or even life tap and fel flame (without proc) is bad.
As for affliction:
Is there any benefit to hardcasting unstable affliction once its on the boss over just shadowflaming (especially given T-11 tier)?
I think you mean Fel Flame...and yes there is. Fel Flame does bad damage and only adds 6 seconds to Unstable Affliction. Refreshing UA is significantly better.
Once again this comes down to GCD uses. Two fel flames is two GCD's, hardcasting UA is only one. The damage of fel flame is not big enough to off-set the use of an extra GCD. With the proc however it does enough damage for you to want to cast it.
The other scenario where you want to use fel flame is of course when your moving and you aren't at risk of going too low on mana (soon).
