I thought that Thor's hammer could only be used by the 'worthy'? >.> Again, I'm going off movieverse because I know next to nothing about the comicverse.

Thor may be a god but somone like Galactus could crush him like a flea. Not exactly; Beta Ray Bill(Thor as an alien) has driven off Galactus before, and taken down two different Heralds.
All things in the Marvel universe are subjective after all.

Well Odin deamed him "worthy" in that case. The Hulk lifted it just through sheer strength once too, but that was Ultimate Hulk so it dosnt rly count. Hes also tried and failed a bunch of times.
As far as I remember the only ones to have lifted it are Odin, Thor, Hulk, Thors grandfather, and I
think
Captain America (I may be wrong on that last one). Superman lifted it in Marvel vs DC, but thats not cannon.

Hammer to the face and all.
And that's why you don't piss off a God.
Edit: And the
movie
, like the rest, is still based on the Ultimate universe.

Idk about that, remember Ultimate Hulk eats people, I dont see that in the movie : /
It seems like the movies take inspiriation from both sources. I remember the classic Avengers #1 it was about Cap, Thor, Iron man, Giant man teaming up to go after the Hulk, then all five of them team up on Loki, and it seems like thats what their doing in the film. I dont remember how Ultimate Avengers got started.
EDIT: actualy cap wasnt around in Avengers #1 was he? They found him after

Based on, not exactly like the actual universe.

I liked the movie and thought of it more like batman begins, a good amount of action to not have things get to boring but also setting up the story.

I love how Mjölnir adjusts to the size of a novelty hammer like the ones in Super Smash Bros.

Magical Hammer of the Gods though; same with the weapons of the Warrior Three, Sif, Loki, Odin and any other Marvel God heh.

Well that pic is ultimate Thor, the regular version is proportionatly about the same as the movie.

I'm actually quite confused about this in the Marvelverse. Are the Warrior Three and Sif regarded as Gods in the same sense as Odin and Thor are? I was trying to work this out during the film. I know they're Asgardians, but I doubt that means they're, by default, Gods.

Eh....looks different in a wide variety of places
; also depends on the artist as well, as I've seen some older comics where the Hammer is a great hammer and in others it was even smaller then the standard one.

Sif is the leader of the Valkyries in the normalverse. The Warrior Three were once mortals but rose up to Asgard and Vallhala; they are Gods now though in the Marvelverse and have no actual 'real' myth alternative.

Hmm, now I'm
really
confused. Odin is the god of war, so why is Sif the goddess of war? I probably sound very derpy, but it sounds more than a little overlapping.

Odin isnt the God of War, hes king of the Gods

Ah, I see. Sort of ironic that Thor's not the God of War, considering how war-hungry he was... and how many more frost giants he killed than Sif.

As said on the previous page; while Sif got some 'good' scenes in the movie...what she is in the comics is far superior. And again, the whole lover thing with the God of Thunder heh; Portman's character works when Thor has a mortal center, but not when it's the God himself walking the world.
And yes, Odin is the All-Father of the Norse Marvelverse Gods, just as Zeus is the King of the Gods for the Greek Pantheon.

Idk Thor seems a lot more down to earth in the movie (no pun intended), I think he makes a better pairing with Jane Foster in the film mythos.

Asgard in the movie was really cool looking, but definitely doesn't seem like what it'd actually be. Too much shiny metal and not enough stone. That's what it looks like in the comics though; so it does work....or at least, portions of it do; some of them, such as the Wyld Forests and the like, look like the old timey medieval castles and the like...which still doesn't fit lol; considering the time period.
Edit:
Couple
of
examples
of
such.
