I have got to say, the original Deadmines was my favourite for a long time. It was there I learned about the common CC markings, handling aggro and other such things. Also the questline that the instance completed was fairly epic for a low-level character - the immersion was unbelievably good and I sort of look back to those days when things were exiting and I couldn't simply handwave everything with experience.

No location in WoW will top Karazhan for me. The lore, the atmosphere, and the great times I had raiding there with friends will be hard to beat.
I love Vashj'ir. It's a beautiful zone - you can really see all the work they put into it. And my favorite spot is Underlight Canyon - I love stopping and taking screenshots when I'm out collecting herbs.
For me, visually, it's a toss-up between Grizzly Hills and pre-Cataclysm Azshara. WIth their mainly-temperate forest settings, they both felt like home to me - Grizzly Hills was the height of summer, and Azshara was the chilly late autumn. Nagrand also gives me the same vibe, with it's lakes and rolling plains. If I were picking favorites based on the zone's music, Karazhan and Gilneas both stick out; the harpsichord pieces are so damn good. Close behind would be Howling Fjord with it's solo Uilleann pipes, or the Nexus for it's heavily-electronic soundtrack.
My favorite zone is Stormwind. I'm flying on a comfortable gryphon that belongs to alliance airlines, and as soon as we enter SW, i hear that exciting music. It makes me feel as "coming back home after long, tiring fights for some rest". Nothing like home...And i'm happy that we can fly over that beloved city now. Really nice to see all the colorful roofs, even though the bad bad dragon destroyed some of it. :(
My favorite area would have to be Zangarmarsh. Sure the questing isn't the best there, but the landscape and design is simply stunning. I love the mysteriousness of it and all of the cool colors that were used in its design. Plus it is always fun to just hang out on a giant mushroom and /dance!
Sholazar Basin, for sure. Lush, green, and vibrant, and the Oracles and Frenzyheart were a hoot.
Nagrand is my favorite zone. The scenery is nice, the quests are fun and it's good xp when you level.
The best zone by far is the remake of Thousand Needles with the flooding of the entire zone. The new quest-hub, the completely changed looks just blew me away when I first entered the zone after the remake to Cataclysm.
my favorite zone would have to be silverpine because of all the lore there in the undead quests and story lines going back through the history of the area and the people who are there
Hm.. thats a tough one. I think all the zones have something special about them that makes them all my favorite, but if I had to pick I would say the Eversong Woods
Moonglade, where my druid feels right at home :) and I love the big lake in the middle.
Azhara, before the Shattering. Without a doubt the most beautiful and peaceful place ever. Broken and forgotten, it strongly appealed to me. It made me feel comforted to be in a place that looked as bad as I felt from time to time. The Ravencrest monument was and still is breath-taking. Hurt, but invulnerable; at rest.
My Favourite would have to be Terokkar Forest, following the quests onto/into Auchindoun with my Draenie hunter, made me feel so unbelievably sad that such a peaceful and holy site had been torn apart , by the actions of another race which unbeknownst to most had no idea they were being used as puppets.Stepping out from the lush forests onto a dead grey plot of land was something I was not expecting , the beautiful forests, Draenie ruins with the majestic Alleria stronghold all add to the splendour of Terrokar and is why I always feel that my char is at home there.
