He sought out to bring more hatred to America and inspire zealotrous following of his false islamic teachings. He achieved both of those and much much more. Osama is basically the biggest troll in human history.
Not a troll, he was trying to restore the lost caliphate. With him as the new Caliph of course...

Chuck Norris actually killed Osama...
Damn. Can't believe I didn't think of that.
This is probably how Osama died (probably).
Lol.

Obama confirmed that he was killed in an attack on a compound in Pakistan.
Aye. Obama is a really good speaker.
I'd say he's a good people's president, yeah.
The news we get over here is that he's the worst you guys have ever had.
Honestly, I don't believe either Osama or Hussein died
when the U.S. said they did
. It's all probably a publicity stunt to boost morale, lower resistance towards the efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan, and ensure Obama gets re-elected.
He would have done it closer to November. The zeal from the death will lose impact the longer the time in between reelection and the event.
And no, we aren't getting out of Iraq or Afghanistan soon. Popping news of the death this early would actually work against us staying longer. The average joe wouldn't see a reason to stay after he was dead.
That's the problem with conspiracy theories, they don't make much sense.

Neither does what the government tells you, though.

The average joe wouldn't see a reason to stay after he was dead.Well if Al'Qaeda does actually exist, the U.S. would certainly have to remain there to vanquish them completely. Just because their figurehead dies, doesn't mean the operation stops operating. This would likely be the official justification when someone does ask the question of why they are staying.

I actually don't have much to say that hasn't already been said, to be honest. It's all fairly 'meh' to me, at the moment.

Heh, figured I wasn't the only meh'er.

I kind of am a meh'r, in that I know his death changes nothing. It's all the politics that will surround it that will grind my gears, and all the pro-America, anti-Muslim, pro-authority sentiment that I will be copping both inside and outside my home.

Why surprised? As you say, it's all just politics at the moment. Note:
The US Government has issued a worldwide travel alert after Bin Laden's death.
It's not going to stop the conflict at all. Bin Laden wasn't the first terrorist, and he's not going to be the last either. All this is doing is attempting to give people a false sense of security and achievement.

It could be worse for me, I could live in one of Sydney's Muslim strongholds like Bankstown, Punchbowl, Auburn or Lakemba.

I know, but politics seem to be your thing.
