I just realised in my last post I said "Shadowflame" when really I meant "Shadowburn" for the glyph.... oops.
So I guess the question still stands. How does the Shadowburn glyph stack up against the others?

SimCraft doesn't seem to acknowledge the resetting of shadowdburn's cooldown by the glyph so leave this with me, I'll look into it.
edit: it was bugged in SimCraft but is fixed on the SVN. I'm not going to compile the latest version myself just for this but I'll do it as soon as a full version is released.

I'd be interested in knowing just how much noise SimCraft actually comes up with, because looking at your figures for professions, I'd lose 2 decimal places across the board.
Otherwise, you are losing accuracy for the sake of precision.
Unfortunately, that totally muddies the waters, but is more intellectually honest (and more importantly accurate)

Mind clarifying what you're saying?

When the simulation noise seems to be +_0.05% (from the professions table), giving figures to 0.0001% is pretty pointless, because you'll always be getting more noise than your level of precision.
Accuracy is how close to the actual avalue you are, precision is how many decimal places - precision is good, as long as you dont sacrifice accuracy.

I've used 10k iterations on particularly fine differences that matter. The professions stuff wasn't a difference that I felt warranted that extra time but if you feel it's that important then feel free to reSim it on 10k and post it here. I'd be interested to see if that leads to a difference of any real significance.

How many iterations did you run for professions?
And whats the variance measure on the ones you've run 10k iterations on?
At this level of precision, any average measurement should come with a variance.

When presenting as many different options as I am there's really no way I can publish all the possible info people might want without uploading every single output. Since the number of people interested in that sort of thing is very low and since it's actually not all that relevant to the purpose of the thread, it's not something I'm going to do.
As I say though, you can Sim these things yourself if you're interested.

The problem is, it could potential invalidate all of the conclusions drawn from the data.

Well, I'm not really drawing any conclusions, just presenting information that I've found interesting.
That said, I don't see that what you're saying is the case. If the difference between two options is close enough to be within the margin for error of SimCraft then that tells us a lot.
I'll encourage you again to use the tests I've done as a launch-pad to do some of your own tests. I'd certainly be interested in any results you get.

The Shadowburn glyph has been fixed in the release version of SimCraft so the results are:
Shadowburn test
