I liked AFFC. The best part of the book was that it took a break from the "main" characters and focused on perspectives of others as the story unfolded.
For instance with the Hound's death, you learn about it from Brienne coming across the priest by chance and hearing about it. The shift of perspective from Arya being there leaving him and the finishing of that story tangent from the priest is just really good story-telling and writing. It's something not a lot of authors do, or even think of doing. That's why I liked AFfC, anyways. That, and watching Cersei think she's being smart when she's actually just $%^&ing over the kingdom and herself.

Oh yea, I think that Martin was definatly hinting that was Sandor, there was also that thing where he pets the dog that walks up to him. I think hes pulling a Tony Soprano here, letting us each decide the ending we want Sandor to have. To those who think hes an evil bastard, he gets a grusome painful death, to those who thinks he was a victim of circomstances he gets a quiet life of retirement
My main problem with the book though was that it just didnt go anywhere. There were over a thousand pages with so little movement on the part of the actual story, GRRM needs to speed &*!@ up a little bit.
I mean of the 3 POVs that dominated most of the story (Brienne, Cersie, Jamie) the only ones I enjoyed reading were Jamies. Cersies got too repetitive with her paranoia and such (although that came in relivant in the last 2 chapters), and honestly Briennes felt more like something I had to get through than something I enjoyed, I had to stifle a groan every time I reached one of her chapters. Samwells were good I suppose but like I said they just didnt reach anywhere, and Aryas as alwways were great, but there were something like 3-4 the whole book.

Aye, AFFC was probably my least favorite of the series. ASoS and ADWD are the best, followed by the first.

Oh I forgot Sansa and VIctorian/Asha
The Greyjoys were good but like Aryas too few and far in between (I liked how their story actualy moved)
And Sansas were worse than Brienne. And Im not one of those Sansa haters that cant stand her chapters because I dont like her characture, I thought her POVs were great in ACoK and ASoS, but her new place in the story is just aweful.

Sansa's last few chapters show a whole new side of her personality, I think. She seems stronger than we are willing to believe - a different kind of strength.
Also, I don't want to crush your hopes, but
A Dance with Dragons
was a little weird for me - and many of the other fans of the series. It felt like the moments that were supposed to be awesome were really awesome, but the chapters between them were a little too shabby. The end was fantastic, but the majority of the content before it was only mediocre. Not that I won't buy the next two books the day they hit the shelves...

HoleofArt:
There's speculation related to Sandor Clegane that he did not die. He was wounded in the leg, and there was a novice who was digging a grave that had a limp at the Quiet Isle. Also, the Elder Brother never directly uses Clegane's name but rather his "title" (the Hound) when speaking about the death. When Brienne says "Sandor Clegane is dead", he simply replies "He is at rest", potentially implying that it was only the part of Sandor that made him the Hound that died instead of Clegane himself.
That's an interesting theory, and I do hope it's true. I really like Sandor.
I personally can't stand Sansa's chapters either. They're only good when you're learning about what Petyr is doing. I will admit that they get better as she actually develops towards the end of AFFC, but I think overall she takes the cake for my least favorite perspective to read.

I hate to say it but I think maby hes losing his enthusiasim for the series and thats why the writing is suffering. The first few books came out within like 2 years of each other, then it was 5 years in between ASOS and AFFC, and 6 years for ADWD. Seems like maby hes just getting tired of the series

This is probably the silliest comparison I could make, but I'm a good way into ADWD and Dannys relationship with Drogon reminds me so much of Ash and his Charizard from Pokemon. Anybody els get that?

Which further reminds me of a link I got once like two weeks ago.

Lulz.
Strictly speaking, everybody has probably heard of them, but I still found it funny.

I meant in the context of the books, people have 'heard of' the Old Gods, and it might have worked better as The Seven are too mainstream, but whatever.

I almost feel like I've seen it already, having read the books now. Only thing I didn't really imagine as it was would be the Unsullied, I imagined (or perhaps remembered) them with helmets and other than that mostly bare-skin with a little armor around the legs, maybe like a war-kilt, but definitely not a body-length toga. I definitely knew they had helmets with the braids of the Dothraki. Maybe those weren't them though. I just kind of assumed.

IIRC the unsullied don't show up untill book 3. Danny didn't really do much in book 2 really.
Also as much as I support them sticking to the original story, I hope that Bronn and Tyrion don't part ways after season 3 because their interaction in the show is just too awesome. If they made a show called "Tyrion and Bronn" I would watch it.

Isn't there only supposed to be like three seasons or something? So wouldn't this one be books two and three and maybe four? Maybe I'm just making this up.
I think the book series was originally supposed to be a trilogy, or maybe like five books at most.
Edit: And I definitely agree with Argent on the seventh book.
