It's kind of like a cross for my faith. We don't believe any symbol is enough to represent Him, and we don't celebrate his death, so some of us wear rings like those to remind us to do good.
Rather ironic that it was stolen. I need to buy a new one now that I think about it.

I do believe it works, but it's symbol of what I do believe in.
I say next time some punks start shouting you stuff about satanism while wearing that shirt, you should shout back: "Shut up racists, can't you see I'm jew?" They won't find teasing jews funny. It's so last century.
Couldn't do that; that would be a lie, which goes against my own personal belief of not lying to others, part of the whole 'Do what you will, but harm none' philosophy I follow. Plus, I have no desire to peeve off the Jewish God.

Aye, with a little bit of Buddhist and Hinduism thrown in; mainly follow what I believe in from them, and try to not do stupid things that would step on the things I don't. And yeah, I've met those who claimed to be Wicca as well but were only doing it cause it was 'cool' to do..../sigh One idiot running around, claiming to be a Warlock who followed the Wicca belief; tried so very hard to explain to him, 'No, you are Witch, not a Warlock; Warlock means Oathbreaker and you'd be evil if you were' and he just looked me at funny, then ran off again, still saying the same thing(alright ad-libbed but still).

In other words, you've built your own rational faith based on not harming others?
Why can't there be more people like you in the world? :P

Well it's not just me; that's the major creed of Wicca: Do what you will, but harm none. Most see that as just not injuring others or the like, but I really think it goes deeper then that; like the fools who mess around with certain potions(love potions and the like) I see them as definitely going against it, since you are injuring the other person by doing stupid stuff like that.
And if there were more people like me.....would be a boring world.

Yeah, I'm somewhat familiar with Wiccan beliefs - the threefold rule and all that. In the case of Wicca, the rule is, "Have done unto you threefold what you do unto others." :P Take that, Golden Rule!
As for it being a boring world? Eh, I doubt it. As a species we could focus on much more important matters if we could get rid of the penis-measuring match that is modern, organized religion.

Aye, the Threefold Rule is the other reason I try to be careful; don't really need something bad coming back at me three times worse for whatever I did.

Well there is that...and the fact, that's it entire possible, the mate of the Good Goddess is possibly the Hunter....you know, a leader of the Wild Hunt, so doing good in Wicca is a very good thing to keep from being run down to death by an insane Hunter God and his pack of hell beasts.

If anything, most of my beliefs are still based in Christianity, just minus all the metaphysical, supernatural stuff. Don't steal, don't kill, don't be a @#$% to everyone, etc..
Most of those predate Christianity anyway, at least according to most studies of the philosophy of law. As to
why
they seem to be a common theme throughout cultures? Well, it
could
be that they were handed down by some divine being - but my bet is that they were simply written formalizations of behavior that had aided in the survival of the tribe.

Or they stole it from the older religions already around and altered to fit it their new views lol.

Indeed. A common argument made by theists against atheists is where do you get your morality from if you reject religion?
In the biblical case, how would you know not to kill people if it weren't a commandment?
Well, of course it's ridiculous. Morality is innate and not taught. The pre-Jewish tribes weren't merrily killing each other before the ten commandments came along.

Regardless, being taught by your parents and other adults that killing and stealing is wrong doesn't really mean you have to believe in "God".
Nor vice-versa.
