If you want to get to the Northern Beaches (best place on Earth) catch the Ferry to Manly then Public Transport from there.
Be warned though, buses fairly pricey compared to America

Hey, more Sydney questions:
1. How should I get from the airport to e.g. Chatswood? How long might it take?
2. Do you guys tip? (cabs and/or restaurants) If so, about how much?
Cab or train and no

15 minutes by train from the airport to Central station. Change trains at Central, another 10-15 minutes to Chatswood.

Expansion results in diluting the talent and dollar pools. If they add 2 new teams, which is what is expected, then those probelms will need to be addressed. There's plenty of good players who are still playing NSW Cup/Qld Cup every week, so I don't think talent is an issue. As for money, I'd imagine the new TV deal will take care of that.
There has always been a push for a second Brisbane (or surrounds) team to break up the monopoly that the Broncos have up there. But then again, we only need to think back to how much of a disaster the South QLD Crushers were.
I don't know much of the SQ Crushers' history, but the potential support for another SEQ team is huge. There are many more rugby league fans per capita in Brisbane than there is in Sydney, IMO, and I think the Western Corridor bid looks really strong.
The Central Coast bid seems popular, but they also have a problem in that they only have 3/4 of a stadium, and due to a major highway running along the southern edge, that will never change.
I honestly don't think the CC bid has much weight. They will pick up
some
of the old Bears supporters, but not all of them. Most of the Central Coast already supports the Knights or a Sydney team, and with a population of only 350,000 there isn't a huge potential fan pool once you take out those that already support a team.

Cool, thanks all. Didn't realize Sydney was so easy to get around!
It's not that great. It's fine if you're only going to places on the train line because the trains run reasonably well. But there are plenty of areas that the trains don't go to.

This, though I'd argue the trains don't run that well.
It'd be a bit more than 15-20 mins from Central to Chatswood - I'd budget around half an hour, factoring in waiting times as well, because the train timetables won't necessarily match up.

Compared to Brisbane, the trains are horrible. Compared to other forms of transport in Sydney (including driving) the trains are pretty good.
That's just my opinion anyway. I've had my run-ins with CityRail over the years, but 95% of the time they've done a satisfactory job for me.

Compared to
Brisbane
Melbourne
Perth
New York
Hong Kong
every other major city I've been
, the trains are horrible.
Fixed for you. That being said, I agree - it's only 'horrible' because we're holding them to a high standard. Though arguably, you could say the same thing about airlines. Having flown Delta twice now, I don't see why they get as bad a rap as they do.

Of course I do! The people in neighbouring apartments would have found out about them too, what with me screaming at my TV every time a big play happened. I most likely won't be at the game, but I'll be repping my sky blue proudly on Caxton Street!
I am very amused by the Clayton's Queenslanders.
Those that were born in NSW, but support QLD because they went there on a holiday when they were 8, or some such rubbish...
It's disgusting, right? I know someone who was born in Wagga Wagga and has lived there almost all her life but supports Qld because she went to school with Inglis.
That doesn't happen in Qld. The only people here who support NSW are migrants from NSW.
Looks like Slater will be out for game 3. I'd imagine they'll move Inglis to fullback, move Tate to centre and put Barba on the wing. He's playing great this year, but for your first ever Origin game, with the pressure of it being a decider, playing fullback is a huge ask.

Billy is just scared of facing Manly on monday, that's why he's sitting out

Last night Josh Morris not only had to keep Inglis quiet, which is no easy feat, but he had to protect Uate as well. Uate had 2 tackles, 1 missed tackle and 2 errors, while Morris had 18 tackles, no missed tackles and no errors.
We need to drop Uate and put Brett Morris on the wing.
