Roll rogue if you're rolling for stealth. You wanna choose from 3 specs or just one?
Sometimes one spec in a class is just gonna suck, eventually it'll be feral for druid, and you'll be SOL. There's (almost) always gonna be one viable spec for any class, and it's not guaranteed to always be feral. If you want to be competitive as stealth melee at any time roll rogue for the long run.

Ok there are a few things to bring up.
Kittys
Better heals. As they can heal themselfs and others.
Can go Bear if your being focused on if needed.
Traveling Form is very nice for flag running.
Rogues
Can CC and not lose stealth.
Can Disarm which is very nice against some classes.
I have both classes and currently like rogue pvp better of the two. Course my kitty spec is now a Boomkin Spec. Nothing like prowling up to Lm and Typhoon people off the side of the cliff. And Sub. Rogues to me are the best class to roll for pvp. Nothing like 1 or 2 shooting a target. Or hurting a flag runner very badly.

1. Will I be able to be competitive if I choose to only do bg/arenas? will I be able to level this way?
BG experience starts out very nice, with about 1/3 to 1/2 a level for a win in WSG. Queue times are also shortest in the earliest brackets as people are trying out alts.
As you go on, the XP diminishes and queue times increase. While it would technically be possible to level exclusively through BGs, I wouldn't recommend it. I generally do random dungeon groups for the first couple of levels of a bracket, and then do PvP for the last couple. Between the two you can keep moving along without having to solo.
2. How long are queues and do pre-mades exist? will I have an advantage getting to a premade as a druid or a rogue.
Queue times have been highly variable for me, even in the early brackets. I have also learned that the average queue time displayed in-game is essentially useless. It is almost always under 5 minutes, yet my queue times range from 2 minutes to 40, with no clear pattern. I do think, though, that Alliance characters have shorter queues.
Pre-mades only really exist for end-game rated BGs. There simply aren't enough players available to form pre-mades for lower level brackets with any consistency.
I imagine your class would only affect your chances of getting into a premade depending on what classes they already have. If they aren't full on stealthers, there's probably a spot for you.
3. Is my assessment that druids and rogues are closer then ever correct? Are druids the new combat rogues? Does one has an advantage over another (considering I will not do any pve content)?
I believe that assessment is correct. The classes differ in playstyle and strengths/weaknesses, but no so much on overall power.
Personally I find a Feral Druid infinitely more fun to play than a Rogue. The Rogue has more and better cooldowns, but the Druid has more options in almost any situation: heals, root, cyclone, tank form.
I just find the Druid to be a much more versatile class, and if I were organizing a rated BG I would choose the Druid over a Rogue in a heartbeat. In terms of their ability to kill stuff, they're about equal. So why wouldn't I want the Druid for spot heals, better CC, and flag carrying potential?

One playstyle difference is that Feral bleeds have been buffed up considerably, relative to their direct damage, as compared with 2 years ago. This makes the Druid play a bit more like a DoT class.

As someone playing both a Feral and a rogue in PvP at 85, I will say that some of what I've seen here is not completely correct. As it stands here's where each class excels:
Self heals - Rogues beat Ferals (Recup out-heals LotP by a lot, and if you use your instants on HT, it's still a close call)
Friendly Heals - Ferals beat Rogues because they have something
CCing your DPS target - Rogues are stronger with a silence (garrote) to go along with kidney. Their mind-numbing poison and other utilities really help here.
CCing other targets - Feral wins because Cyclone is usually accepted as stronger than blind because of the much more frequent usage opportunities.
Avoiding being controlled - Rogue.
Burst - About equal but Rogue's is a much, much shorter CD.
Sustained - Feral
The biggest advantage Ferals used to have was a larger uptime, that is now gone. Ferals usually find themselves behind sub rogues in uptime. Sub is also far more survivable than Feral. Ferals are great targets, rogues are one of the worst targets in the game.
