So does the experience you gain from picking herbs and mining nodes scale with your level. example I pick Peacebloom at level 66 would I get experience comparable to a mob my level or would I get experience comparable to the mobs in the zone.
Another question does archaeology scale with level.

Ok on the First question. The answer is no. Gather Nodes on give the exp that a mob gives in the zone that the herb is gathered in. If that makes sence.
Example. Picking Peacebloom at level 60 might give 48 exp. Picking Random Outland herb would give a few thousand exp. So other then leveling the gathering profession pick in your leveling zone.
For the second question. It scales and if I'm not mistaken it give double the mob level exp. I.E. if a same level mob as you gives 3k exp then you would get 6k per node.

On a side note it is worth mentioning that just like killing a mob your rested XP counts for both Archaeology and Herbs/Mineral nodes.
There are quite a few comments out there about people leveling just from gathering and archaeology.
One neat thing I found is that gathering herbs can still give you experience even if the herb/mineral node is gray (no skill ups). As long as you are the appropriate level range for the zone, it's gravy.
