Blood of the North (passive) now permanently converts both Blood Runes into Death Runes. There is no longer any proc interaction with Blood Strike required to activate Death Runes.
Is it me or does this seem too large an increase in damage?
Blood Strike's contribution is generally less than half the Off-hand contribution in DPS from Obliterate.
It appears to me that weaving in Frost Strike will become much more important to sustained DPS now. But will this just mean we get nerfed before it goes to live servers?
I can't wait to see how this adds up.

No, not at all. Looking at
State of DPS,
Frost DK's are currently only above the secondary DPS specs like Arms or Frost (and I guess Arcane is a secondary), and that's even with the huge inflation from what we do on Magmaw. This is a much needed change, and will also do a lot to simplify the rotation.

This, along with the Howling Blast and Frost Strike buffs that are currently listed, will ensure Frost is truly competitive for the majority of players. On the other hand...

I think it will become too large an increase for the already good Frost players due to the increased Oblits (especially with more Killing Machine procs going to Oblit vice Frost Strike). With how simplified our rune management priority could potentially be, along with the lowered number of GCDs initiated, we could see 2H Frost DPSing in Frost Presence - which could cause even more tuning to be necessary.

Definitely - we'll be entirely focused on the FU/Death Runes vice managing Blood Runes and will probably no longer have Blood Tap to utilize. Using FS whenever we're waiting for a pair of runes will be critical.
I'm most certainly curious how it will all turn out. I am also most appreciative that the Devs are actually addressing Frost's issue with being proc reliant by simplifying our rune management/priority. Oi, this makes me want to go to the PTR for a bit...
