yes and its not a big deal, also how are you trying out tanking on a trial account when you cant level past 20? And last I knew you cant join a guild with a trial account either, or they just recently changed a bunch of things trial accounts can do.

You can join a guild, and, you can use the LFG at 15.

Apparently, I could join. I just can't look into their vault yet. I guess with having Guild benefits, Blizzard wanted to give players on trial accounts an experience to see what being in a guild was like
And know you know. LOL
But seriously, yes, I have seen that kinda stuff go down real time, though not as fast paced as you're describing. Was in a guild when one of the officers left to form his own guild. (The guild was mainly a social guild and the officer wanted to work towards raiding) He sent a goodbye letter to the guild to let them know what was going on and how to reach him if they wanted to chat, and the guild leader lost he freakin' MIND. I was pretty good friends with the officer in person, he sent me some of the chat logs from the GM and wow. He accused him of having joined the guild in the first place just to steal members, so he locked down recruitment to himself only. He accused him of robbing the guild bank (I checked those logs myself, he'd taken 2g for repairs the day he left and left 2 stacks of dream shards in the bank), so he locked bank access down to him only. He threatened to report him for "guild sniping", ordered everyone in the guild to cut off all contact with him or he'd report us for helping him with his "guild sniping" Whole thing went on for about 3 days. Finally I logged in one day and everyone except the guild master and his alts had been kicked out of the guild.
The officer in question hadn't been trying to steal members from the original guild, but guess where we all went at that point. :D

I to have seen the drama unfold twice. The first was a mass exodus from a guild of several hundred members by about 50 folks who wanted to start hard core raiding. It was a good thing for them as the rest of us scrubs were just holding them back.
This was before there were guild banks, so there wasn't any of that drama but there was a great deal of insults and accusations on stealing members etc. Sure the new guild did steal members but it "stoled" the members that wanted to do the raiding etc, so it made sense in my mind. There was lots of message board arguments and threads, that blew it all out of proportion. Eventually the original guild collapsed, and the new guild moved to a new server. I am pretty sure they did that by starting new toons, because again back then realm character transfers weren't available/always available like they are now.
The seond hunk of drama was just as pathetic. This chick had a cream puff social guild, called sugar and spice or peaches and cream of some such. Her idea of guild events was gathering in lowbee zones and "having dance parties." I left after about a week, just I didnt want to do that. Then I see on the offical baords a ten page thread about why she disbanded the guild and how mean everyone was to her. It was a bunch of horsh*t.
Both of these hunks of drama really stem from the same problem. The only membership requirement either guild had was accepting the guild invitation.

I hate guild drama, and yet always seem to find myself in dramatic guilds.
I had one guild experience, a casual raiding guild, where the GM went kind of mental- similar to Frejan's experience. I was in that guild...oh, maybe 8-9 months- it was my first actual experience doing end-game content, and when I joined I had no idea what I was doing- lol. By the end, people were at each other's throats- GM was cursing at the officers for doing a Naxx 10 achievement run without him, a week after he'd had a meeting and told us to stop worrying about scheduling Naxx 10's so we could focus on 25's and Ulduar. He demoted his girlfriend for getting saved to a raid too, I think. Any time anyone left the guild they were written off- banned from vent, no one talk to them, etc. etc.- even if it was just becuase of conflicting raid times or whatever. Oh, and he once logged on about half an hour before the second string raid team's scheduled raid, becuase we were doing better than he was, and invited about 7 of that raid's people to a group to "start early", screwing the raid leaders for the week, and not getting very far anyway. After I left, they asked me to help them with VoA, when Flame Watcher was brand new, because they needed decent DPS- and he wouldn't even un-ban me from vent to help his guild. It was really kind of sad how twisted up the game got him, and I think he probably should have been medicated for his anxiety, which is probably what caused a lot of his control issues. I don't hold any grudges or anything- I mostly hope he went and got some help since then.

That was the first time I ever saw any guild drama happen real-time. It's some scary @#$% to see, man! I don't know about the rest of you, has anyone else experienced something like this? Because I really hope I'm not the first.
Wait till it happens over Vent.
When I'm in a guild, I'm never at the forefront for anything. Never the focus of attention. I log in, play, log out. If anyone needs help, I tend to give a hand. That way, when the sky starts falling, I get to just sit back and watch the fur fly. Laugh. /popcorn. Been around to witness some major guilds on a given server die. Doesn't matter of course, since it's just a game.

My guild experience, Guild Leader is having everyone in the guild farm mats for guild bank. He uses mats to level professions he says he's going to use the professions to pay everyone back. 3 days later he has almost every profession at 525, and a lot of people leave the guild. He was a weird GM, he once whispered me (Before I even knew him) about joining my OS3D, I told him we were full. He tells me im a bunch of names for not kicking someone else for his "1337" frost dps. His wife also joins in and spams me.. when I left guild he spammed me on his multiple toons, on his 3 accounts. at the same time. thats around 10 toons, could've been 30.
And he kept saying, "Its for max gold profit" and when I left, he asked me if my evil mom made me.. or if my friend's hacked my account. And he talked as if he had a million macros preset, I couldn't read half what he said. Then he always said this. "Life > wow > wife" that was his philosophy, he said it like 10 times a day. Also, when I left he asked me in mail that I HAD to give him an explanation for the officers, as, "everyones in this together, and they need an explanation" Well mine was, ^@(# off, A%^hole. As whenever I argued with him he never argued, always tried to "reassure me" and that "my evil mom or friends were holding me back" Holding me back from what? Farming for him..

Haha, lol no. Unless if that person has a reputation for trustworthiness, or would be willing to make a deposit, I wouldn't do this, GM or no.

Damn, Vincistis... That poor server...

I don't think it was really qualified as spamming, more like extremely fast and grammatically correct typing.
But
EXTREMELY
fast.
Types faster then I read.

Sorry for double posting but I wanted to add, the guy was NEVER offline. Since him and his wife acted the same he basically really was never offline. I wasn't sure of the details, but it sounded like his wife had a day job and he had a night job. So they we're like NEVER offline. It was hard for me to leave guild because of that as I hate confrontation, I prefer a knife fight over a nervous talk with someone, like the GM. So I agreed to run him through dungeons so he could level his alchemist to 75 to be able to learn 525 alchemy. I left the guild, logged off. And since it was sunday night I didn't have to log back on until friday. Sadly, I was confronted when I came on, on Friday.
