Two resistance aura raiding?

Currently my guild is running ten mans using two pally healers and a third non-pally healer. A couple times now the other pally has suggested to me that we both use resistance aura and then alternate popping aura mastery. I however see this largely as a waste.
To the best of my knowledge, our auras won't stack. So for 1 minute and 48 seconds out of every two minutes in a fight, we'll be missing out on the benefit of having a different aura up (I know most auras don't have great benefits, but from my perspective, every little bit counts).
Am I wrong in this and would the raid more likely receive greater benefit if we both had resistance aura going?

If you need to AM an aura, you can just switch to it when the time comes.

If the only auras that aren't otherwise covered are Ret and Crusader, frankly I'd run double resistance just to save the GCD for switching to aura mastery.

Well I made a simple little macro that switches to resistance aura and then pops aura mastery, neither of which seem to be on the GCD. Then the only issue is for me to remember to switch back to whatever aura I had previous.
And no, we don't have all the other auras covered. And I'd still rather ret over two resistance auras. I know it's a barely noticeable amount of damage, but it still seems better than having an aura up that's essentially doing nothing.

Well what is your group setup?
If you told us what classes/specs you run with it´ll be a lot easier to determine.
In my ten man I always have a healing stream totem down and despite that its still prefferable to our holy paladin also using this resistance aura simply because he doesnt need to use a GCD when he needs it.
