I've been told a billion things and I'm offically confused.
Some people say use rupture with the talent to evicirate it's up time.
Some people say rupture sucks and that I should use the Hemo glyph to provide the bleed while ignoreing the evicirate talent to put points into cheat death.
I'd rather get a yes or no answer, as I have undying trust in the ever so kind and considerant posters of this site.
Also, on a side note. Rupture benefits from mastery since it's a finisher right?

I've been playing around with Subtlety and trying to figure a few things out. (Getting a little frustrated that no one is posting guides now that sub is actually putting out real dps, and I'll be the first to admit I'm a poor theorycrafter, so I don't know how to sim and present the numbers myself.)
I do notice that my damage is much better if I use Rupture. I also open with Garrote, followed immediately by one Hemorrhage. As long as the Hemo debuff is up (the secondary, passive one that increases bleed damage taken), Rupture will remain nasty and well worth keeping on your target. I also take advantage of Hemo's passive debuff when I dance, garroting first before spamming Ambush.
Yes, Rupture benefits from mastery. I'm not thrilled with mastery on my rogue, though. Again, I might be very, very wrong (so someone correct me and give evidence—not to be mean but because I really do want to know!), but I'd rather stack haste and crit for my secondary stats.
My gut says I should stay with rupture. I look at the 2nd lowest tier and I come to the logical conclussion that blizzard wants me to use rupture, but weird stuff happens that blows my mind sometimes.
Like when enhancement shamans were using spell caster main hands. I did not see that coming.

Rupture. Say you keep rupture ticking for a 5 minute boss fight. It ticked 150 times. You paid 5 combo points and 0 energy to do rupture's tick damage with a chance to crit times 150. There's really no other way to explain why it's a benefit to your dps.
This is what bugged me when people said it wasn't worth it.
I was told that it's difficult to maintain Rupture with an evicerate while maintaining recuperate and slice and disc. I had a hard time wrapping my mind around this since sub should be the best at getting combo points due to HaT, right?
Perhaps I was being informed by people who only tested sub by themselves without other people with them. That might explain why they feel there isn't enough time to maintain all 4 finishers.

I don't know why anyone would tell you to forsake rupture for slice and dice. SnD is important in a way for any spec, but least so for sub, rupture should always be the first thing up, then recup. (rupture first just for the MoS buffed rupture) and if you can't maintain rupture, recup, and SnD, stop tryin to do snd, until you become more comfortable with the spec. (practice ALWAYS helps)

Though, i think they coulda done something to where you gain energy somehow by having SnD up, but they decided to put it with recup....
