i am currently working on a tutorial for a co-worker who just started playing and i just want to make sure of a few things before i tell him the wrong information.
now i have been playing for 4 years and own all the expansions but what i dont know are what race combos are available for people that DONT own all the expansions
now my questions:
what race combos are available for someone that has only purchased vanilla wow?
are the cata combos i.e. tauren pally there to choose for that person? or is that a cata expansion choice only?
if they are not there for someone with out the expansions where can i find what the starting race/class combos are for vanilla.

Everyone can choose the new combos, not just people who have cataclysm. I remember when 4.0.3a came out a week or two before cata's release, there were troll druids everywhere.
so a person that has only purchased vanilla wow can roll a troll druid no restrictions?
thank you

All of the same race/class combos are still available... as long as you can place those races or classes. (Like goblins, blood elves or DKs)
And honestly? There admittedly are advantages to be had in choosing a particular race (with its racial bonuses) and a particular class. But more than anything else, the race/class combo which will work best is the one which the gamer will enjoy the most. Really.
