Hey all!
I want to get a computer-- a laptop that is-- for dual-boxing. And I want it under $500, preferably around $400.
This was the best I can find:

Any suggestions/approvals/disapprovals?
Thanks!

I laughed at the 'detailed description'. Stupid advertising bull@#$%e. How dare they try to make 15" sound like pure awesomeness.
You want to avoid Intel dedicated graphics. Try to get one with a graphics chip by a graphics manufacturer.
I tried looking on that site but it's difficult to find a better, similar priced laptop. Fail website design. My investigative skills tell me that you are likely on the West Coast USA, so I'll point you to Newegg who deliver in the USA.
Here is a good list for you
, between $400-$500.
Aim for one with the biggest screen you can get, and get one with ATI graphics chipset, not Intel.
Good luck.

Well, it'll definitely be an upgrade to my 2002 desktop, which is single core and has 1.5g of RAM (ya, I know... sucks)...
Now I'm trying to decide between

Also, thanks for the advice on Intel. Did not realize it took away from RAM.
Thanks, and any suggestions towards either 2 would be nice!

My vote goes for the Acer in the first link.

Can I ask why? Just trying to weigh my options best I can...
Thanks!
Edit: An extra g of ram vs more rpm... I think I will go with the Acer. Thank you so much for the help!
