Hi,
Im starting equiping my tank. I've read some guides about it. I have a question tho.
I was told to get dodge and parry > 10% and start stacking mastery.
My question is i got 10% from both dodge and parry and 46% block from mastery stacking.
When should i get more dodge and parry?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Your gear setups looks just about perfect. You'll get more dodge and parry when you get better gear.
So yes, keep doing what you are doing.
Thanks !

I've gemmed all Stam basically so you guys are saying go all Mastery?
Definitely. Stam is alright for magic heavy fights but overall mastery is far better. Taking less damage=needs less healing=less mana wasted on you. Just grab a stam trinket for magic heavy fights.

simple answer is Yes.
but you can read here about the gems set up in this Guide.

Gear for a mix. Stamina and Block (Mastery) work together extremely well to increase your survivability.
My main spec is holy, and the first fight I've had mana problems with literally this whole expansion so far is Nef. Everything up to that point I can heal while accidentally forgetting to swap my Time Lost Figurine out for my JC trinket. Stacking all stam is a bad idea, but I find a lot of people who tank and don't heal don't realize that mana is more forgiving than Blizzard originally threatened.

pezz is very correct. As a healer I've seen the same thing too with tanks stacking just Stam. It is reckless and expends a lot more healer mana where a tank with a lot less HP but a better balance of Dodge and Parry offer a much safer situation. You can make it through fights with tanks stacking just Stam but the fight is a lot crazier.

I would of actually thought that healing a tank stacking STAM would be less crazy that one stacking avoidance/block. At least up the block cap.
Having more health means more time to recover from damage.

Tanks don't have yo-yo health bars anymore (except on Nef...), so you don't need a buffer, really. At least, not one much bigger than one from matching blue sockets, enchanting your gear, and maybe having one stam trinket

The constraint isn't on throughput, or even timing, anymore. Healer constraint is about mana efficiency. As a result, damge reduction of any sort, (e.g. block) is better than straight stam. Stamina was only useful where incoming damage > incoming heals. That's not an issue so much anymore.

So. again im worried about my dodge and parry. Currently 10% parry and dodge and 51% block.
Im seing everyone with >13% dodge/parry. Shouldnt i sacrifice other stats and get more parry and dodge?
Like sacrifice expertise?

Yes, expertise can go. Threat is a non-issue so don't bother with exp/hit. Here is the flow chart:
Item has:
Mastery + Dodge/Parry = Perfect, leave it.
Mastery + Exp/Hit = Reforge Exp/Hit into Dodge (or Parry if that is somehow lower)
Dodge + Parry = Reforge the larger, or if equal than the one which you have more of, into Mastery
Dodge/Parry + Exp/Hit = Reforge the Exp/Hit into Mastery, UNLESS the Dodge/Parry is more than double the Exp/Hit (like
Legguards of the Unseeing
) then reforge that into Mastery.
And yes, at equal item level, that is the order of preference for gear stat allocation from top to bottom: the best pieces will always be mastery/dodge or mastery/parry. There are no exceptions in T11 content.
So, when should you stop stacking Mastery and get above your 10% or whatever arbitrary number of avoidance stats you have? When you reach THE BLOCK CAP! And you won't in T11, so don't think about it and get your mastery on! Once your combined avoidance plus block plus miss tops 102.4%, then you can start dropping block to boost dodge/parry while remaining over 102.4%. That, or boost your threat stats. Until then though, get as close as humanly possible to 102.4%. From memory, I'm at about 87.6% in current gear with 3 blues left.
Thanks a lot !
