It's...plausible...
The issue is that Onyxia summons some really powerful adds in the air phase that would be quite difficult to tank. In addition, there's a massive aoe cluster&*!@ you have to do periodically.
Just too much going on for one person to do now, in my opinion.

The difference between warlock solo'ing and, say, rogue or hunter soloing is our class mechanics. The rogue solo'ing patchwerk did alot of shadowstep shenanigans, something our class simply cannot do. Hunters have Misdirect and mend pet, the combination of the two allows them to unload full DPS on a boss while only having to sacrifice 2 GCDs to allow their pet to keep aggro. Deathknights are another story, but the fact that they have an ability that heals them for a percentage of the currently crazy health pools greatly aids them.
My point is, warlock solo'ing is limited to what we or our voidwalker can face tank without dying/hitting enrage timers. If I recally correctly, Ony and Adds both hit very hard. The adds also have a cast time spell that must be interrupted, and a buff they put on themselves that requires them to be disarmed or you will take massive damage. Warlocks don't have a reliable interrupt or a disarm and health funnel has been nerfed pretty hard =/

Hand of Gul'dan is your friend here.
I think it's possible. Use HoG, Hellfire, and such. Would definitely use a Void tank. AoE the whelps, focus on Ony, rinse and repeat. Would definitely love to hear how this turns out.

About the disarming (I know, late response):
Nowadays, it is done (or at least WotLK, post-80-Ony). The big ones hit hard without it. BUT, at 85, I suppose it wouldn't be necessary.
Edit: Definitely get AoF.
