2) Ardent Defender - 20% damage reduction with a 2 min CD
3 minutes not 2 minutes.
Will read into it a lot more later. For now tho, looks good. Good work mate.
Cheers,
Hat

Here is a listing of all the rating conversions to actual stats. This is for Cataclysm and lvl 85 toons. I shamelessly steal these from Elitist Jerks :)
You know we have our own cap compendium with rating conversions here in the Pally forums on Wowhead, right?

WoG Primal should only be used if you use the WoG Build.
This
should be listed in majors. I would use it over LoH gylph. Also I would use
Landslide
over mending or a
Pyrium Weapon Chain
do to the +hit that it gives. Mending is useful but not for a level 85 toon. Its more for solo/leveling or possibly pvp.

You missed Glyph of Focused Shield. If I recall correctly it's the best TPS major glyph for single target fights.
Unless majors have changed since the shattering.

I use it. I use HW,Con.,and Gylph of FS for my majors. But it depends on your set-up as to which gylphs you will take. I personally would never use LoH and Dp gylphs. As I don't Main Tank Raids, but all gylphs have there uses.

hey,
thanks a bunch for this guide! It helped tons at clearing things up. I'm new to wow and just started a paladin. I got him to lvl 70 on a ret talent tree but I am interested on prot or holy as off spec, or even prot/holy as my spec builds. I've made other chars before this paladin but none of them involved tanking so I'm new to it and a little worried to be starting at such a late level.
One thing I am wondering is I have looked at other prot guides and some of them are out dated so i guess that's why they all gave stam then strg as most importants gear values.
I have on question though. Being ret I don't have any prot gear, and even then my ret gear is bad since I focused on lvling so far. If I wanted to start tanking now how should I go about getting my gear? I was told if I go holy i could easily start healing in dungeons and get my new holy gear as I go but if I went prot that I would need good gear before I started. Anyone got tips on what I should d to get tanking gear then?
Thanks again for the info! much appreciated!

What are you actually wondering?
To answer your question, leveling as prot is easy, espcially with
. Respec prot and just quest with your ret gear. Take tank choices from quests and build up a set until you can decently tank dungeons. Tank some dungeons to get even more gear.
Until you hit 80+, I wouldn't really bother with worrying too much about tanking gear unless everyone in your group has more hp than you. Focus on gear with stam, as mana isn't really an issue until 80+ (in my experience).
I started playing my paladin again recently because I rolled a priest in cata and leveling for me is actually easier as prot. I can take 5-6 mobs, HotR->Cons->HotR->AS/HW->HotR->WoG.

haha yeah sorry that was badl worded - I meant other guides say strentgh and stam first and I was wondering if tha was just because they were outdated or not? so far I haven't found any gear that has mastery on it.
I know prot relies on multiple mobs at once to be useful and quick at leveling, but I also heard someone say that the mobs were very far a part in higher level zones and made this difficult. Anyways thats not too important for me, i'm in it for the fun of being prot or holy.
Thanks for the other info though!
