Archeology - Brutal Prospecting Zones?

I am currently a level 81 Death Knight attempting to finish off archeology. My character itself has leveled from 76-81 just from the archeology itself. However, this comes with problems, because I am now way ahead of myself level-wise, and do not have the gear to match it.
This causes problems to arise with the new archeology dig sites that come with my level and archeology skill level.
Dig sites appearing in places like Twilight Highlands are gigantic suicide-fests for me. Never before have I felt that a profession was so difficult to level that I had to stop leveling it and level my actual character to succeed. But the dig zones in Twilight Highlands are so dense with enemies that it would be an impossibility for me to dig there in my current state.
So, my question is, does anyone else feel that these unwanted dig sites are a bit too unforgiving? The ones in Twilight Highlands are simply dwarf nodes, which were already extremely common in the eastern kingdoms. I feel that these nodes are brutally unnecessary, since they themselves are no better than the other dig sites in the rest of the continent, but are almost impossible for me to prospect in my current state.
The obvious answer is for me to, of course, level (which I am in the process of doing). But, does anyone else feel that leveling is unnecessary for a region such as this, where there is no incentive to actually prospect there?

No because its going under the assumption that when you hit that level in your archeology you are a high level and therefore can do high level things. There are only 2 sites in twilight highlands if i recall and they are pretty rare to get. So you could just skip that dig site until you are high enough to get it.

It must be my bad luck in action then, because in the past two or so hours of digging, I have gotten six dig sites in Twilight Highlands. I just feel that there is no advantage to my constant deaths, just so that I can move onto dig sites elsewhere.

There really isent try going to kalimdor since the spawns in uldum and mount hyjal are forgiving to low levels.

I am on this side of the world because I have already gotten just about all of the rares on the other continent. I am looking for dwarf fragments specifically right now, but seeing as how the fragments located in the Twilight Highlands offer no more benefit to me than the other dwarf dig sites, but offer substantial challenge, I feel the system is a bit heavy-slated for lower levels.

Like i said the system works under assumptions about the players. But even at 85 those digsites are still a pita

No, i've had 3 at the same time, and i "believe" to have had at least 3 or 4
different
dig sites in TH.
and they are pretty rare to get
RNG must love me, i get those ALL the time, 1-2-3 digs, then 1-2 pops in TH, finish them of, do 1-3 more, another one in TH... its beautiful, STV, fly there, dig a bit, Oh YAY EP efffing L... fly there, get a dig in TH, fly there, dig it, get a new one in STV only to have the God forsaken dig site in TH popping up AGAIN... and after that a Nelf-dig in EPL, and a truckload of dwarf fragments i dont WANT. I've been farming troll sites specifically but I've completed almost as many dwarf as I've done troll.
(I've been after the sword, yes, yet another moron farming/wasting his life away when i could do something useful like go smelt the snow with a hair blower)

True it is not worth it. You say you have never had this problem with other professions, well you must not have done any gathering professions. I had to level my way up in order to mine or gather herbs in those areas and it would be the same way to gather cloth or skin.
But I have done gathering professions.
Usually nodes for herbs and minerals are off in random corners or along borders to regions, allowing easy access to them. There is an occasional enemy guarding one, but not too much to worry about.
These dig sites, on the other hand, are surrounded by 10-15+ enemies that all have around 100k hit points. I personally think that is a bit ridiculous, seeing as how there is no real reward.
