Can someone please tell me how to use auctioneer properly? So far I've lost money using it (been using it since Saturday) thank you!

Run some scans to collect price data for your realm's economy.
If you click on 'trade goods', then 'herbs', and press the scan button (looks like a 'play' button) Auctioneer will only scan the current herb auctions. You can do this to scan for prices for certain commodities if you don't have the time or need to do a full scan.
Then you put your auction items in the 'POST' tab on the Auction interface. When you drag the item/stack to the box it gives a suggested sell price. Try to make sure the 'bid' is not too far from the 'buy out'. Auctioneer has an annoying tendency to suggest you post the item as bid of 1g20s40c and a buy-out of 247g.
It will also display all the same items currently for sale on the AH and should automatically suggest that you undercut them.
So you pretty much just drag to the box and post. But I usually do a quick check to see the current prices and then proceed with the posts.
Remember to do AH scans every few days, as average prices change.

I recommend two full scans daily and two weeks' worth of data prior to trying to use Auctioneer to make gold.
Once you've compiled your data, use the resale searcher to buy up some underpriced trade goods that you KNOW will sell. If you have an enchanter, use the disenchant searcher to purchase some blues and greens to dust and then sell the mats. The converter searcher will show you what items you can purchase, right click, and then sell the resulting material (example: crystallized fire and eternal fire). If you have someone stationed at the neutral AH, the arbitrage searcher will show you what you can purchase to sell in the neutral AH for a profit.
That's pretty much all I do and I'm not hurting for gold. I'm nowhere near the cap, but I'm not complaining either.

Also remember Auctioneer is simply a tool. If your losing money while using it your not doing something right. You need to have at least a small idea of how to use the market to your advantage. Do not expect to hit the auctioneer button and have free gold fall in your lap.

Are the two tips you have to keep in mind while using Auctioneer. Without doing regular scans, you have no way of knowing how much various items usually are, and therefore no reference point as to whether something is underpriced or overpriced.
If you have a consumable crafting profession (Alchemy, Inscription, Enchanting, with a few niche items in the others) be sure to keep a list of required items handy, so you can spot when your own materials are especially cheap.

In a bit late but heres a video guide that helped me get started.

My only other tip is to run these kinds of addons on an alt/banker and not your main as they can quickly use up a lot of game resources and do not help you at all mid-raid.

As some one who made playing the AH a third profession, truthfully you need to watch it. The AH is dynamic and except for a few exceptions prices tend to fluctuate and you almost have to be there when it happens.
You have to become familiar with what are sellers on your server. I use to watch particular listings for undervalued items. I didn't bother looking for a stack of something that I could make 5 gold on reselling. For example there was a time when blue plans for jewelcrafting would sell for a lot of gold. I would consistently watch for values. Pick up one for 40gold once and sold it for 800 one hour later. Most times I was able to make 75+ gold on them.
Tune in the AH search to list just epic items. A very nice way to find undervalue.
Look for bid only items. These can slip past for really low prices.
Watching the AH overtime gives you a better gauge on where the buyers will spend. Auctioneer can be skewed by "lite" listing or poor listing, crafting trends,overpricing/underpricing...etc. Haven't use auctioneer in a long time so not sure if it can be tuned to look at only specific areas of listing, otherwise don't just blindly follow it...you might find yourself panning along side Topper McNabb

Delete it and DL Auctionator...i have always preferred it.
Auctionator is great for batch posting/buying materials and posting their products, (I use it as such) but it doesn't have all the same functions that Auctioneer has. Personally, I would alternate between the two, depending on what you're focusing on.
