It is a difficult buff to maintain for sure. Especially when several of the DPS rotations out there are more demanding than in previous years.
It is a good idea--broken maybe--but good none-the-less. I am not sure what an ideal fix would be however. Right now it is a pain (especially when you're the raid leader having to pay attention to everything else
everyone else
is doing--in addition to maintaining your own DPS rotation, buffs and debuffs) but it is very rewarding when you get the "nuance" of casting it at just the right time like asakawa said above.
Perhaps simply making its duration (and cooldown) a tad longer, maybe roughly anywhere in between the 15 seconds it currently is and the 45 seconds of the Soulburn cooldown. It seems obvious that they don't want us relying on Soulburn to refresh this, thought I am coming to this from a much less theoretical background so I am probably far off base anyway.

Those should have been changed at 4.0.3 seeing as they've been talking about that since the first or second day of 4.0.1 ^_^ Maybe we'll get our ISF fix for 4.1.1 seeing as they seem to be a patch behind...

I'd rather see buffs in other places for Affliction/Demo. The 15% haste gimmick is a stale concept to have on all three warlock specs. Blizzard can be more creative than that ^_^
Then again, it could just be the new glyph of life tap...

It might even just be in plain 4.1 since we don't know everything that's in that patch yet.

Unstable affliction...not so unstable anymore.
Seriously, just like some of you guys say above, and like the majority of arenajunkies have been going almost berserk over: if anything, UA needed a buff.
Sure, nerf CoEx. It's ok, it was a wet dream, couldnt last for long. Increase the soul swap glyph CD, who cares. Better yet remove soul swap altogether. Remove drain mana, why not. It's a ridiculous mechanic. But Unstable affliction? UA is the money maker of affliction pvp, probably its main attraction. Nerfing it will make it nothing but another dot, allowing healing classes to mindlessly remove it. Where is the finesse? UA is an innovative, different thing.
Emphazise
this instead, and if needed, direct nerfs elsewhere.

Affliction does not have any issues with self healing.

Do the effects or CoEx and GoShadowflame stack?

Are you afraid that if they did stack, while CoEx being 50%, it would make the target being slowed by 120% and therefore walking backwards? :-D
Sorry, couldn't help it.
rofl!
No snare effects in this game stack. The strongest snare on the target takes precedence.

New meta gems have been added: Agile Shadowspirit Diamond (Agility/3% critical damage), Reverberating Shadowspirit Diamond (Strength/3% critical damage), and
Burning Shadowspirit Diamond (Intellect/3% critical damage)
. These new recipes are unbound and can drop from any Cataclysm creature.
The new meta gems have a requirement of 3 red gems equipped.
wait wat? I guess this is their way of apologizing for the "more blue than red" fiasco, lol

lets see how they apologize for the "you are an idiot to play aff pvp" insult aka PTR UA nerf.

My only worry with ISF is that they try to improve it by removing it for the other non Destro specs and give us something a little worse. Look, I don't know about you guys but I'm doing fine on DPS in raids. And ISF certainly wears off and can be very tricky to refresh, but I'm not for a minute going to complain about it.
No way.
If Ghostcrawler came to me and asked my thoughts on ISF, I'd look him right in the eyes and say "ISF? Love it. Don't change a thing." I wouldn't even blink either, or move my eyes to the left to indicate that I was lying. I guess it's one of those "be careful what you ask for, you may get it" type of deals.
Not sure I want the Demo rotation to get simpler either. I'm wearing the complexity of the rotation/priorities like a badge of Honor these days. If you want simple, go play a Mage.

Demonology's rotation is plenty complex. Also, there is a difference between a good amount of complexity and a plain hassle. For example, Afflictions rotation at the beginning of wrath was ridiculous. It was good fun for some, but for most it was over the top and was adjusted accordingly. Non-destro rotations having to fit in hard casted soul fires is over the top. Its not complex, its not a fun mechanic, it is just plain annoying and frankly, the specs can live without it.
Don't worry about your DPS. Even if you spec is no longer top of the simcraft charts, if you are a good player you will still perform well. If the spec gets hit so hard that you can no longer compete, it will be buffed.

Good news everyone.
While you're compiling feedback about the 4.0.6 warlock changes posted thus far, I want to make mention that the Glyph of Soul Swap change is being reverted for now. We don't feel that particular change is necessary as of yet, but will continue to evaluate Soul Swap's performance.
Posted less than an hour ago. (

There has been more added...
Also, another change not yet listed in the notes is to the default range of Curse of Exhaustion. With the movement speed reduction at 30% in 4.0.6, down from 50%, the range is being increased to 40 yards, up from 30.

Yet another change posted about the upcoming warlock nerfs... oops I mean changes.
A number of crowd control effect durations are being reduced in PvP for patch 4.0.6. Those changes are not yet notated. The Unstable Affliction change relates to these changes and just happened to be listed first.
In general, dispelling warlock DoTs is a little more punishing than we intended in the current PvP model. That said, there are yet still more changes not listed which are worth mentioning here:
1. The reduction on the Unstable Affliction silence effect is 4 seconds, up from 3 as currently listed.
2. We do think it's a little too easy to counter warlocks (and Shadow priests) with a Resto shaman's Cleansing Waters talent (as was pointed out earlier in this thread), which is being nerfed in 4.0.6 as well.

So UA is only being reduced by 1 second now. That's better than nothing I guess.
